Beckett serves up a tater to Tyler Colvin, the first batter he faces in his debut with the Dodgers.

Other notes of interest, the two starters in that Dodgers-Rockies game, Josh Beckett and Jeff Francis, were also the two starters in Game 1 of the 2007 World Series.

Maholm gets the start tonight for the Bravos tonight in San Diego. Lets hope Heyward continues this hot streak he's had in the last few games.

This game is destined to be a loss. The Padres are starting Kelly, his 1st MLB game. The Braves usually are horrible against young pitchers without any MLB tape on them.

Interesting exchange between Crain and Pierzynski. O's had bases loaded with nobody out. Machado grounded to third, the 3B threw home, but Pierzynski never threw to 1st to try for the DP. Crain didn't seem too happy and said something while pointing to 1st, AJ shouted stuff back and seemed to give him an earful. Don't see that often on the field in the middle of a game.

          Oh and go O's!

Not to mention that the Padres have won 7 in a row.

Felix with his 5th shutout of the season (all since June 28). He's on fire. In his last 14 starts, he's given up a total of 17 earned runs.

Verlander, Price, Sale and Weaver are all in the mix as well.

21 homeruns for Willin Rosario in 282 ABs, not bad for a rookie.

He's quietly becoming a ROTY contender.

In a vacuum, perhaps, but since he plays on a last place team, I doubt it.

It's between Felix and Verlander for me, but the fact that Felix has now thrown 4 shutouts in addition to his perfect game puts him ahead IMO (but of course I'm biased since I'm an M's fan lol).

Didn't stop him two years ago when he was on a 101 loss team.
