    Re: Yankees Pitching Strategy

Yes, but the regular season hardly matters. Someone could have 5+ blown saves, or they can have 75 saves, I'd rather go with someone I pretty much know will perform in the playoffs, than someone who isnt proven in the playoffs. If Gagne makes the playoffs and pitches well, then I might say otherwise. For now, its Rivera.

I'd take Rivera over Gagne in a heartbeat. Rivera is one of the most dominant pitchers in the postseason of all time. Who knows where Gagne would fit in? I would rather go with a proven product, and not someone who hasnt even been in the playoffs.

This just in: Juan Rivera is an OUTFIELDER. He's not a pitcher, dude. Where gagne would fit in? hmm...55 saves? cy young? yeah...Gagne IS the proven product...screw the fact that he hasn't gone to a world series, I don't think it would wear him much, if at all. He's not flakey like Kim.

Am I missing some joke, or do you really not know he is talking about Mariano Rivera, and not Juan Rivera?

Well, it was late at night

He was apparently addressing my post

My post had nothing to do with the Yankees or anyone on their team

It addressed possible trades involving Juan Rivera to teams like LA for Gagne

It would be easy to get confused when he didn't specifically mention it was Mariano, given the facts above.

I was talking to whoever mentioned Gagne in their post...

And I was confused, I would HOPE he knew that I was referring to Mariano, so I didnt even bother saying so. I thought it was a joke so I didnt address it...hmm.

Small Update: it looks like Flarhety(c) and White(rhp), and Sierra(dh) all have deals to be announced soon. Yankees offered arbitration to Wells and Pettite. I hope wells can get his health back first and then if he is able, close out his career in Pinstripes next year. Pettite's agent said he expects to have a contract sign by next week.

Osuna, and Clemons were not offered arbitration and are gone from the organization.
