As for the other positions: Boone gets another chance at 3rd, same for Soriano at 2nd. Posada is behind the plate, Jeter at short with Giambi and his [censored you naughty boy] up knee at DH. The next aquisition will be JT Snow to cover first! Sheffeild in right, Matsui in Center, and Bernie in Left.

didnt they just sign Lofton? now your OF is Matsui in left, Lofton center, Sheff in right, Bernie DH, and Jason the Gimp forced to play 1st to crack the lineup....sounds like a case of at least one too many players to me

I don't think Lofton has signed with any teams... as far as I know that is.

If only the Yanks had pursued Tino they wouldn't have to put Giambi at first.

I was just thinking that, but I wouldn't have worked.

for the other poster, they were thinging about Lofton but nothing has happened yet. I just dont think that Giambi's knee will remain healthy for long. and if he needs to DH for a month, does Bernie sit or does he got to outfeild and lofton sit? I think bernie should just play left and they should pick up an everyday first baseman instead of kenny Lofton

Back from ESPN Insider and Hasegawa, Wells, Spieizio, Snow, Lofton, Matsui, Brown, and of course Pettite are the players the Yanks are looking at.
Hasegawa looks like less of a posssibility with the other new additions to the bullpen. The Wells decision depends on how his surgery went. Speizio or Snow is a toss up. Lofton is more serious. Matsui is looking distant right now. Pettie will get what he wants. Brown supposedly wants out and the new deal is Brown and Adrian Beltre for Weaver, Boone and Cash. I would rather have Wells back and here are my reasons: Brown is old and has been playing in a pitcher freindly park with still a less than stellar ERA. Wells has comeback from this type of surgery before and is a crowd favorite. Weaver is not a horrible pitcher. I'v gotten over blaming him for their loss this year. He has a good arm, plus he was on a months rest and it was his first pressure situation: Have some faith.

There was a rumor of Brown for Nomar but if Boston does the Arod deal as well they can say goodbye to either Damon or Nixon.

Brown to boston is kindof insane. No offense, but the only way they would trade Nomar to LA is if the Arod deal went through, and then they would go for an outfielder (shawn green? brian jordan?) to fill manny's spot. To suggest yet another star pitcher when the Sox don't need it (need I mention the Kim factor again?) is kind of ridiculous. If I was them I'd go after Jordan and pitching. If the Foulke deal fell through I'd make a push for gagne too. That would be awesome.
