Interesting hire, he's certainly going to be a big change over cranky ol' Leyland and seeing that he's a young guy he may be more attuned to the way the game is played today. I think he'll probably be like Matheny in that he works well with the players, has some awareness of the game today but has some quirks that are call backs to older managers.

I know one thing for sure is that as a former catcher he'll do a very good job with the pitching staff.

I like that hire…a lot. Ausmus may flop, but I expect he'll actually be a pretty good manager.

I like the Ausmus hire. Former catchers seem to have a good track record as managers. I think for the long term, this is the right move, as opposed to bringing in a veteran for a few years to try and get us over the top.

Tigers declined the 4 M option on Veras, which I thought was a no brainer to pick up. I wouldn't be surprised if they non-tendered Coke. Hopefully DD completely remakes the bullpen.

Seeing that picture of Napoli pop up on my TL last night had me in tears. He has quickly launched himself into a legend in my eyes. Give him whatever he wants, Boston!

Props to John Cena for sending a WWE championship belt to Ortiz too. Pretty cool.

Yeah I figured Veras was an auto pick up. I guess they figure with all the curves his elbow is hanging by a thread. Or they just want a complete bullpen overhaul.

I talked about this on another board and man am I totally against this. If you thought Buck goes on tangents with McCarver than it's going to be a regular KOMEDY! show between those two.

You'd think FOX would pair Buck up with someone with more credentials than this.

Wow. I know they tried to differentiate bullying from hazing, but then refused to detail the alleged acts. Interesting, personally I'd want nothing to do with bullying Puig.

I wish Howell would've been more specific but it's sad to hear that Puig (or anyone for that matter) getting bullied in the name of "jocular fun".

Hope I never see this guy on an MLB field again.
