It's more of a ploy with a dispute over renovations at Wrigley or something like, but Ricketts did say if they don't come to an agreement they will move to Rosemont.

When I *attempted* fantasy baseball in 2011, I'm pretty sure he was my first pick in the draft because every magazine I read said he would be really good -__-

Romero has always struck me as the kind of guy that cares more about his flatbill (with the stickers still on them ) ballcap collection and his "swag" more than baseball. Oh yeah, he spends too much time chasing skirts, too.

The Bears also threatened to move to Gary. Then Soldier Field was quickly renovated.

Nobody would have gone to any games if they moved to Gary. Yeeesh.

Tim McCarver to retire at end of season

                    THANK THE BABY JESUS!

He stuck around 12 years too long IMO. Hindsight says he should've retired after the '01 season. Believe it or not but McCarver used to be a pretty good analyst though he always had the problems of over-explaining things and making horrible "jokes" but it really got intolerable the last 5 years.

I bet Bob Brenly will be the guy to replace him at FOX.

I bet he rattles off his entire life story during a FOX game this season to explain his retirement. His constant over-analyzing drives me crazy.

I saw the Cardinals signed Wainwright to a 5 year/$97M deal...so they are going to be paying nearly $20M/year to a 36 year old pitcher with a Tommy John history? Not sure that's the best move...

There are so many pitchers that undergo TJ so that's hardly a concern of mine. He is one of the best pitchers when healthy so IMO this is a steal. Better they sign him now, than wait til after this season and pay him more if he performs well.
