Watching baseball of any type is still better than watching a bad team in other sports.

Maybe its because I grew up watching the Brewers, so even a 500 season still excites me.

Watching a bad baseball team makes it very easy to start tuning out by the middle of July.

I'm not excited to discover this this season.

That's sorta what I hate is that by around all star break, is when it's basically known if your team is in playoff race or not, so if they're not(for the 19th straight year), it really makes you not that interested. Makes you less interested when that team is like 70% AAA guys.

Anyone else interested in the movie "42"(obviously about Jackie Robinson).

Comes out days before Jackie Robinson day.

Sorta wish it was like straight to DVD release or something.

I'm very interested in seeing the movie, but the hippity-hoppity bippity-boppity music on the trailer is a HUGE turnoff.

I'll probably wait and snag it on Blu-ray.

I was thinking the same thing.

I got a free ticket for it, so if it gets at least decent reviews, I'll see it in theaters.

I will probably watch it at some point. Hopefully this'll be a really good movie though when it comes to Jackie Robinson movies that's not saying much. (though the movie that Jackie Robinson starred in is interesting in its way)

I don't have any high hopes for the movie. Definitely not going to see it in theaters. If it's good, I'll get it when it comes to bluray.

Don't take this the wrong way, I appreciate everything Jackie Robinson did for the game and it's of the utmost importance... I'm sick of hearing the story over and over and over, though. Why can't someone give me a Ken Burns documentary on the Negro Leagues, or a good long documentary on them? I think too much emphasis gets put on Jackie and not enough emphasis on teaching people about the Negro league players/teams to be honest.

Hope this would be the right thread but it looks like Vernon Wells may be a Yankee soon.

                            Ughh..

The number out there is that the Yankees will pay $4 million a year for him, Angels the rest. Even at that price I don't like it.

Refuse to give Russell Martin $12 million, give Vernon Wells $13 million. Logic.

Ben Francisco is just as productive if not more than Wells and he's making 1/13th the money.

Cubs owner Tom Ricketts said the team is looking into possibly moving to Rosemont, IL.
