He basically thinks the Yanks are going to be in a long period of decline and stated that Robinson Cano is virtually a lock to go to the Dodgers next season which would leave the Yankees with no one in the order playing in their prime.

If you think things are bad now they could be UGLY if Rosenthal is right.
I'm not arguing his statements, but on what basis could he make this comment with any confidence? That's just like saying any player is a lock to go to the Yankees because we have a lot of money.

I don't think Hank & Hal have the wherewithal to run the Yankees like the Boss
did. The next 10 years for 'em might be as bad a period as 1965-1975.
        Or 1982-1993.

In all fairness, I don't think anyone could.

Cant believe the Pirates will be getting their 10000th win this year. Seems like only 131 years ago they got their first.

Don't worry we'll all be quiet as church mice if the Jays fall on their faces.

Don't have to be a Blue Jays fan to say that. Every other fan in the league can see that the Yankees are shedding weight like the ship is sinking.

So either the Rangers have a done deal with Andrus - 8 years $120 or they are close.

I figured he was as good as gone. I thought if they struggled this year they may move him by trade deadline.

I guess Profar to second? Kinsler to outfield? I doubt they trade Profar and not sure if they can move Kinsler...

If I had to guess, I'd say Profar would be the 2B of the future and Kinsler would move to first.

They still have the highest payroll in the league, and the main reason they have avoided spending this offseason is so they can keep Cano and reduce payroll.

Saying Cano is a lock to go anywhere is crazy.

Yup, it's clear. Given that they've traded away all of their high priced players and are trying to get the payroll under 100 million...except neither of those things are happening. They're trying to get under the luxury tax, where the payroll will still be higher than 90% of the league's teams. These tales of the Yankees demise are greatly exaggerated, and comical given that the fanbase quickest to point it out is one whose team hasn't been a factor in the division in 20 years.

Going to take some getting used to seeing Houston on the American League schedule. Looking over the Red Sox schedule again and notice we start a series against Houston the 25th. My first reaction was "man, they're starting interleague play earlier this year" before quickly reminding myself they now play in the AL West.

Houston's new home uniforms look great. Nice and clean.

Nice deal for Andrus and the Rangers.

But man Castro's contact is looking more and more like a steal for the Cubs.
