I cannot believe people in Montreal think he''ll sit out a month of the season just to sign with them.
Guerreo knew that if he didn't take MTL money that he wasn't gonna be able to sign again with them till may. I mean come on! He is going either to the Mets, Marlins or O's. Aren't you people reading the stories on Guerrero? Where do they even mention Montreal? blah....

    That's what I've been saying all along....kinda...

Marlins just don't make sense to me. Exactly how can they afford a guy like Vladi when they are already in danger of losing Lowell? It seems kindof impossible to me, or maybe I'm just not understanding the Lowell situation?

As for Vladi being the ultimate focal point in NY, I think we've all forgotten about Matsui, who may very well become a star shortstop in NY. If he can hit 30 out of the park and play decent defense with an avg above .270 he's a guaranteed hit. Shortstops with power are hard to come by, everyone knows that, and just the fact that he's foreign talent will push the media onto him more than anyone else on the team, even if Vladi does get signed. Also, then you've got Vladi, Cameron, Matsui, Piazza, alot of big names on that team. Not only will Matsui soak up most of the attention if he does what he's supposed to, but NY hasn't really had a chance to see King Cammy play, and once they catch an eye of his defense in Center (let me remind you that left center in Safeco is pretty damn deep) he will get a decent ammount of attention from the Media, also. PiazzaI don't know about, cause the guy is definitely having trouble as a Catcher. If Mo does retire, it would make sense for him to move to First. I guess we'll just have to wait and see though.

Anyways, my point here (if not already blatantly obvious) is that Vladi will in no way be THE center of attention in NY, not with a possible star foreign shortstop, not with a star Centerfielder that IMHO makes Torii Hunter look bad at defense, not at all. He will be a focal point, but not NEARLY as big as anyone has yet guessed. The only time he will be the center of attention is in the few weeks and possibly months following his signing, which is probably why he's reluctant to sign with anybody. You said it yourself, the guy is shy of media attention, and no matter WHERE he signs, he's going to get the Media's Attention.

    Poor Guy.
