    A-Gon is .240 with the occassional homerun, tons of strikeouts, and sterling defense. That's just all you get from him.

    I imagine Barrett will be considerably better than that at the plate.

      Well, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Patterson still put up good numbers despite leading off. Yes, he was projected to put up some Carlos Beltran-like numbers (just shy of a .300 AVG, 25 or so HRs, 100 RBIs, 25 SBs). However, we don't know for sure if he could keep up the projected pace. If I was Dusty, he'd stay in the leadoff spot.

      - Corey Patterson makes the most sense at leadoff (seeing as how there's no one else for the job)
      - He hasn't proven himself enough yet (to me at least)
      - His presence at leadoff would give the opposing team something to think about when they have to face a dangerous hitter after walking the pitcher.

            He didn't lead off.

            Most of last year, he hit third when he was healthy. That's where he put up the numbers.

            They tried him at leadoff, and he couldn't crack .200.
