Not a fan of "selling the vote." I don't care that Deadspin "got it right."

It's just wrong. It's as wrong as the population of moron writers. Not a fan of it at all.

Yeah, it's not like Pedro, Big Unit, and Smoltz are all eligible next year!

Biggio is never going to get in at this point.

Sheffield is also available next year, but let's be honest, there is no chance he makes the HoF.

I'm furious right now, this is just injustice, the definition of it. You don't want to put Bonds, Clemens etc.. in because they are the posterboys for the steroid era, ok I can level with that. But you can't leave guy's off that were innocent, or suspected because they played in that era, that's not right.

There were a lot of good players to vote for. I didn't have enough space to vote for him or I would have.

Crap....Well looks like he's going to have to wait a looong time.

I feel bad for Biggio because he deserves to be in the Hall.

No way the writers let 4 in next year. Smoltz or Biggio will not go in next year. My money's on Biggio not making it

Sorry I haven't been following closely and I hope I'm not bringing up an old debate, but are most people assuming Piazza and Bagwell used PEDs even though I can't think of any hard evidence that they did.

I'm still unsure about the whole steroid thing, so I'm holding back on that for now, but the 16 dopes who didn't vote for Greg Maddux, should have their voting credentials removed immediately.

I'm tired of these idiots doing this just to make a name for themselves.

The fact that Schilling keeps getting shafted pisses me off the most. I know they won't step off their PED crusade but WTF? Schilling has 80+ WAR for gods sake. That's near Pedro level.

If Schilling can't get in then Halladay is not going to have a shot in hell, which is an absolute travesty.

If a player gets over 95% of the vote to make the HoF, any writer who didn't vote for them should have their credentials revoked.

Actually there are. Pedro and Randy Johnson. Even at the end of his career Johnson managed to scrape together 17 wins twice in a row I believe and it still wasn't good enough for the Yankee fans. He was amazing. Martinez had a five year period which nearly rivaled Koufax.

He wasn't a Sandberg/Alomar type with the glove, but he was good enough to play most of his career at 2B. He leads all 2B in HR and RBI…I don't see how he's not a HOF'r, but I don't think he's the biggest slam dunk ever.
Actually he's second to Hornsby but that pretty good company. The voting needs to be expanded and they should be able to vote for more than 10 guys. Some of these guys need their voting privileges suspended for good. Too many writers take too much time on their ballots to have it crapped on by these idiots who sell their vote or write in guys like JT snow and Jacques Jones. RU kidding me?

Forgot about Smoltz and he's a dead lock next year. That rotation only won one WS?

I doubt Smoltz is a lock, He's a lock for me, but for the BBWA? Who could know.

You're right who knows how these whack jobs will vote. Smoltz was a premier starter who went to the bullpen because the team needed him to do it and became a premier reliever. Not an easy thing to do. Eckersley did it but I don't think he could have started efficiently any more at that point. Smoltz could have.

I don't need any convincing, Anyone that can put up the numbers he did, and thrive as a starter and a closer should be a lock. We all know how slippery a slope it is to be a consistent presence at both of those position's, and Smoltzy relished in each role.
