    Re: MLB Off-Topic

No new stadium for now it seems like.

Jays announce they're getting new turf.

It'll be the first time since 2015 where they're getting a new turf. The one back in 2015 happened right before they had a dirt infield. So this new one will take that into consideration, and more importantly, it's gonna be one which stays in the stadium. No need to roll up the turf when transitioning for a diff event like football. So this allows for a better, more permanent type of turf. They're having "shocks" underneath the turf too which will allow for more realistic ball bounces, and easier on the players legs too.

I hope they can fix the warning track too. That's always been part of the field players hated because you never knew where the warning track was since it was basically the same as the turf, just coloured brown.

Although with foul territory now being fully netted, that would also help too since theres no more reaching into the stands.

There really wasn't a reason to keep two separate leagues other than for preserving history.

I'd love to have Gwinnett, Indy, and Charlotte come to Nashville. And maybe I'll get a better raise at the end of 2021 with all the money saved from reducing travel costs. We should have so many more fans too. Everybody has a reasonable excuse to visit my ballpark now.

Cleveland just announced they are dropping Indians from their name starting immediately. New name to be announced in next 3 weeks...

In NFL I would be fine with Washington Football Club (Washington FC) since they use names like that for soccer, so having a football team like that would be fine.

In baseball, I cant imagine Cleveland Baseball Club.

Not sure if they could change name so fast to get new merch out or a logo. Cleveland Spiders would be a nice one.

The logo I mentioned here a while back would be a good choice.

According to the short article I read, their two options are

                A) retaining the nickname through 2021, then adopting the new identity starting in 2022, or

                B) following Washington's example and having a generic name in 2021.

My two favorite picks for the new identity are the Spiders and the Municipals. At first I hated the second one, but it's grown on me that it's similar to Nationals (and *technically* Metropolitans).

I hate spiders so if I were an Indian's fan, idk if I could wear spider logos.

No matter what, the Chief Wahoo logo will always be special to me since it was one of the first looks in baseball I ever knew.

As someone now getting into baseball, simply playing a demo of a game made me love that Cleveland team and look

My vote still (70% sarcastic) vote goes for Cleveland Rocks, even though there are the Rockies.

Spiders is fine, but I always liked Cleveland Indians (or "the Tribe") myself. Though, since we've already been so far removed from Chief Wahoo, changing it now is kind of whatever to me.

Was such a fun game to play. Even had legends teams and everything in the full version. Demo was just Florida vs Cleveland.

For a game back then, it sure had lots in it.
