I’ll hate it when it happens but I do think it’s inevitable.

Knowing the piece of **** of people running MLB I'm sure it is coming. Hopefully the Yankees don't partake.

adverts on helmets I don't mind, or sponsorship names on divisions , but I still hope they never go the way of NASCAR and have their uni's plastered with what would amount to Denny Hamlin-type commercial pyjamas. however I do like that look on like the Japan League as it really distinguishes what your watching. what I find fascinating in Japan League baseball is watching one of their games on tv and it's mostly in Japanese writing script but some of those uniform adverts are in English. huh, go figure

I dont think anyone will ever want that to happen. Even in hockey, that's been a fear how guys will end up looking like the euro hockey players.

No sports league here should ever have that.

Soccer isn't great either. I was actually thinking of getting a soccer jersey once. Normally $100 or so, on clearance for $30. I still decided against it when I realized that most of it was just the sponsors logo, you barely even realize the team.

For a sport like baseball, I'd be fine with a sponsor logo on the helmet (colour coordinated to the teams colours), and a patch on the jersey, but that's it.

Instead of having MORE ads, why not just charge more money for the current ads?

Or look for more unique spots to have ads. They're already doing the green screen ad behind home plate (so you get double the ad money since the road and home team puts in their own specific ads), and digital field ads as well (although this one needs work). The pitchers mound probably could have an ad in it as well if they need. Some already do it, but that's a space which is easy to put an ad without messing with anything.

Seen a number thrown around that the Lakers make $20M from their team jersey sponsorship, lets say the Yankees would make $40M (just for argument sake); Yankees could eat that and hand the $40M out of pocket if there is some revenue sharing stuff relating to it.

It doesn't make business sense (in way it does), but if the Yankees are going to be the Holier Than Thou team then this would be the time to prove, not simply by banning mustaches but saying no; no to mustaches, no to selling the naming rights to Yankees Stadium and no to awful, ignominious jersey sponsorship.

If you could change ONE single aspect of something in baseball, what would you do?

I would make the All-Star game determine HFA in the World Series again. It actually made the All-Star Game feel important, and separated it from the other sports.

                  I'd have a pitch clock.

Games are going way too long, and the reason isn't because of more offense or anything like that. Pitchers take way too long to throw. No more stepping off the mound, or batters stepping out of the box.

Think of it like this, if a pitch clock reduces the average time it takes to throw a pitch by something like 4 seconds per pitch, that leads to games being approximately 20 minutes quicker.

That means it would be 2 hours and 45 minutes for an average MLB game. For reference, NHL and NBA are both around 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Is it really so crazy to think we could have a time where the average MLB game could start at 7:07pm and actually end before 10pm? Last time that happened was 2006! Last time MLB average game length was under 2hrs and 45 mins was the 80s!

From the mid 50s through to the early 80s, the average game lengths didnt really change much (shortest was 2hrs 27 mins, longest was 2hrs 40 mins). Once late 80s hit it suddenly jumped 10 minutes from the early 80s average. 90s and 00s was similar with the length, but then in the 10s things just got worse.

                      Automatic strike zone.

Not knowing whether a pitch is in or out when st the stadium is frustrating.

I wish you asked me before they put the DH in the NL, because now that's what I have to use, ugh.

Actually, the one move I'd make is get rid of Manfred... then it would do a lot of wonders I bet. Get the "pace of play" dialogue completely out of the game.

Sounds like none of 2020 rules will be in 2021 season, 7 inning doubleheaders, runner on 2nd, etc.
