I actually have no issue at all with the opinion ANYONE has about the new rules. I'm not at all suggesting that you are bending the knee to the new rules. I'm really glad that some like them and equally understand why some don't (opinions - like you said). Yes, I fall in the latter category.

My post was a clear reaction to your earlier post that clearly implied that those of us that don't like the new rules can't think with an open mind (as if that's needed since we've already seen these rules in place) and then the implication that we lack simple life skills by not being able to adapt to the new rules (you're words, not mine).

You take out of consideration that those of us that don't like the new rules hadn't thought about it and are just mad to be mad, and maybe there are some that fall in that category but not everyone.

Many take an objective look at the rules and decide for themselves (opinions like you said) whether or not they like it. Doesn't mean we lack an open mind.

Rule changes are inevitable, I don't ever have anything against anyone who likes them. The post of yours that I quoted show that you don't afford the same flexibility for those who don't like them.

Yes, I liked a post with the word pussification in it. Sorry that hit you but that's my opinion I guess.

If you look at my comments on the topic, I like to believe I’m using data, and fact just as much as my personal opinion to support my stance behind the topic. I’d argue your response right now was the least emotionally charged I’ve read from someone on the other side of the coin.

I am most definitely not infallible, and the more I read my post from this morning it read a bit more harsh than it was intended.

Lastly, the post with that descriptor didn’t shake me (it’s quite clever and I actually chuckled). It just read like an emotional doomsday prophecy on how baseball has systematically dismantled itself, and that was being passed off as fact. Which, has been the tone of most posters who are debating with me on the topic.

I do really appreciate you circling back on this and clarifying, and allowing me to do the same.

Regarding the vaccine exemptions, either we are all in this together or we aren't. No special treatment for elites/athletes/the rich etc.

But as we know, we are all equal, some more equal than others.

Definitely didn't say that. But if you were joking then nevermind.

The intentional walk was taken out for literally nothing. That omission bothers me the least out of any of them

They could have just not melted down the last week of the season vs the twins and Yankees and made the playoffs instead of blaming where they played their home games

They were 23-20 in non-Rogers Centre home games but were 24-13 when they were able to return back to Toronto. This might be more correlation than causation but it’s more than plausible this had a bigger impact on the Blue Jays playoff odds than those two series.

Speaking of the Rogers Centre, the Jays announced a 2 year plan to renovate the stadium and extend the life of the stadium by 10-15 years.

But they admit a new stadium still needs to be built.

So this means sometime in the 2030s they'll be getting a new stadium.

The current renovations will deal with the lower bowl and concourse.

They want to make it feel more like a ballpark and less like a stadium. Will be interesting to see what does get changed. I love how you can see the field from all around the concourse on the lower level, although it does suck how those sightlines get blocked by people who just stand there all game long.

I’m confused on what the end game is? Are they waiting for MLB to complete its investigation? I haven’t followed this super close.

Is the hotel in centerfield still in operation?

Also, has it been confirmed that the 3 game wild card round will be played exclusively at the higher seed’s park?

                                It is.

I know one plan was to basically separate the stadium from the hotel which would give them more flexibility on what they can do without needing as much space.

My guess is that they could make it a 40,000 seat venue, open up the OF a bit more and completely redesign the roof if they do a full renovation.

But I do wonder what the plan is in 10+ years. The location is one of the best in the city (minus a lack of real parking, although that describes the city perfectly), so I don't see them wanting to move. And if they demolish and rebuild a brand new stadium, how long would it take? Are they gonna relocate the team for a few years just for that?

A huge plan, but I wonder if they'd ever be able to take over the exhibition grounds (where they have an arena, and a field for mls/cfl). Not replace those venues, but rather replace other buildings in that area.

It's basically right beside where their original stadium used to be, but that area has become so much more developed, has lots of parking, easy to get to, and you really could have a stadium there right along the lake, with a roof, and still have a big open feel to it.

That's at least a decade away, but it seems like it's a matter of when and where and not if at this point for a new stadium.
