I hadn't thought about this in two months and it's just as stupid now as it was then, haha.

Obviously he wasn't going to hit .400 forever (it took him long enough to come up, he wasn't some can't miss prospect), teams were figuring him out, and he was going to have to adjust to that. But man...it's sports. You back your guys in public and handle in-house stuff behind closed doors.

But nope. We must preserve the unwritten rules. Bull****.

I didn't hear about the next day stuff, but I thought the press conference the night before was meant to defuse the situation in case they had thoughts of hitting him, or that he wanted to exonerate himself in the situation saying: "I gave him the red light, and he did that on his own."

I know people are kind of up in arms over that last scenario saying that he's throwing him under the bus, but even still I don't necessarily think he was applauding being hit. More of a "I saw that coming" kind of approach, probably.

Then again, I didn't see what transpired after.

The final attendance numbers for the Jays in Buffalo was higher than the average attendance for the Rays, Marlins and As.

It’s a cool stat and all but it’s very cherry picked.

The attendance being used to say this is only the games played in Buffalo once everything was opened back up without (or very little) capacity limits.

The average number it’s being compared to for the other teams is for the entire season much of which was played with very restrictive capacity limits.

It seems pretty clear looking at his stat line after this incident it had a substantial toll on his performance. Perhaps he's a guy that works better off positive reinforcement and not criticism.

He was raking this season prior to this...wonder if a team might try to take a flier on him in the deadline?

But the limits on other stadiums is still higher than in Buffalo.

Buffalo had limits on a stadium that holds less than half the capacity of other ballparks.

So Buffalo at 50% would be like Miami at around 20%.

Buffalo when the Jays first went there had about 35% capacity.

Apparently Yermin is in uniform and on the roster tonight in Charlotte.

It seems that he just posted that last night out of frustration.

Guardians? Should of just called them the Midge Gnats.
