Yeah, the winged logo is like a big WTF?? Indians management must have been high and drunk in the office partying one night and took a school drawing from the GM's kid and and slurred, "here it is", then they all cheered. Woke up and it had already been submitted to MLB by someone.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Maybe even if the the wings were more rounded at the top it would look better.

Although it's not of benefit to Yermin Mercedes and the Chicago White Sox, perhaps all that happened was his true character was revealed. He was softened instead of hardened after that evening, and when demoted he brought himself to retirement. Again, I'm not stating that is really the case nor is this a time to put Mercedes on blast especially since I don't know what he's going through besides the send-down action, but in the long run that "weakness" in character is something that you wouldn't want on your team anyway.

That all being said... bring back Ozzie!
      Hell yeah, bring him back.

Is that Ozzie trying to be motivational or just honest lol

Edit: Ozzie ripped him pretty good in the extended interview.

I'll probably still end up calling them the Indians. Then again, I still frequently end up referrring to "Florida" Marlins and San Diego Chargers, etc.

Obviously rolls off the tongue/fingers way easier considering growing up with those names/cities/etc.

If you want to watch the Indians play again after this season you'll have to watch Major League for the 26th time, I guess. Speaking of that, can you imagine a baseball team or MLB in general signing off on a movie like that in 2021? Feels like it could never happen with today's psuedo-puritanical views on comedy and social mores. And yet that movie is as funny as ever now.

Sure. It's 2021, after all. Teams embrace tanking, lol.

Word on the street is that Mets' first rounder Kumar Rocker failed his physical with an elbow that showed potential structural damage; as a result it looks like the Mets are going to pull back his bonus offer. He will likely return to Vandy for two more years (due to COVID he has 2 more years) and he'll cash in on the NIL allowing him to make money on endorsements. Sucks for the Mets...

I actually like the name Guardians, especially with the way the ''dians'' at the end is still close to Indians. and its better than other generic team names, like Bulldogs or Wildcats or Tigers.
and really, just glad they made a decision. Dan Snyder should take notes. he's the kind of guy too lazy to name his dog, so he just names him''dog''

I don’t know why they wouldn’t just give him the bonus. Get the Tommy John out of the way now instead of drafting another pitcher who will probably need it at some point in his career. Plus if they get an extra pick next year I doubt someone as good a Kumar falls to them.

Here's a random fact people probably never knew before.

On this day 20 years ago, Deion Sanders was released by the Jays, and that was the end of his MLB career.

Washington found a loophole in his deal where he could miss NFL action if he was playing in the MLB, but since he was in AAA at the time, that meant he should be in the NFL instead.

But when he retired from baseball, he didnt end up playing in the NFL again until he returned with Baltimore a few years later.

If he did play in baseball some more, I wonder if he would've made it back to the big leagues. I could've seen Jays bringing him up in September. A lost season for them and bad attendance, they could've used that boost, not to mention he did have decent numbers in AAA
