That's the thing I hate. I get ones one Washington Football team happening because their old name was offensive, but for Cleveland, wasn't their name fine, it was just the wahoo logo?

So is every name going to be reexamined all of a sudden?

Are names like Braves, Chiefs, Blackhawks and others offensive, or are we just renaming every team with a native name?

Braves will eventually change when enough people from one demographic want to be the voice of another demographic that doesn't find the name offensive at all.

Look at how many people actually believe the Tomahawk chop is offensive and call it racist, yadda yadda. The fact that we live in an era where cancel culture is a thing should only speed up the process of Atlanta changing the name.

Hopefully they just call themselves the Atlanta Baseball Team. That will be better than any other new name could possibly be. Washington Football Team is the best team name in the NFL now and if Atlanta followed, they'd have the best name in the MLB.

Dead serious. Washington Football Team is the absolute best name to replace the old name and I don't think I can ever be convinced otherwise.

All of the other names that were floated I hated for the most part. Red Wolves, Assassins, Warriors, etc. The only one that was half decent was Red Tails. Football Team cannot be topped, though.

Here's a funny source of news breaking on FOX.

During Smackdown which happened to be in Cleveland tonight, they brought up the franchise name change. Fans basically booed the name change out of the building.

So if you want to see a quick poll of about 15,000 Cleveland fans regarding the name change, theres your answer.

I honestly don't think the Braves need to change their name, but once the media gets their hooks into something it can make it happen. The tomahawk chant to me has always felt awkward and wrong. I'm fine with that being gone.

There was an article last year I think or the year before about how the Texas Rangers should change their name.

That's a disturbing thought. The MLB and the teams are businesses and should consider the pulse of their fan base/customers, not the media.

That's how the world should be, but unless you've been living under a rock the past 5 years, that's not how it works. This is getting close to political talk in a sense, so I don't want to go down this path much more, but it won't be surprising when they start a harder push on the Braves and other teams.

As a lifelong die hard Indians fan, knowing that the name was gonna change no matter what, I wanted it to either be the Rockers, or Spiders.

But Guardians is kinda cool too considering the giant guardians of traffic statues on the Hope Memorial Bridge, which leads right to Progressive Field. The Bridge is named after Harry Hope, Bob Hope's father. I hope you all remember Bob Hope, because if not, I'm old as hell.

And now our new slogan can be Guard the Land!

I'll be buying a hat as soon as they are out.

Yeah, that winged logo is a miss. Looks like something someone came up with at 2am when they were tired and just brainstorming.

I’m not sure what kind of logo I would’ve come up with to represent the new name, but a baseball with flying G wings? Nah
