Interesting decision. Schneider was the guy fans thought would've gotten the job after Gibbons. He's been the Jays manager in the minors when all their young guys were coming up.

And people are wondering if what happened last night was the final straw. He challenged a play that Vlad told him not to, and it ended up being a wasted challenge and Vlad didnt seem too happy. Not THE reason for his firing, but he's also dead last in the majors in challenge percentage, winning under 40% of challenges. Makes you wonder what's been going on lately in the clubhouse. Jays recently held a players only meeting too.

Hopefully this is what turns around their season because the past few weeks has been horrible.

Really feel bad for Charlie. Seems like a very likeable guy. But sports are all about results and the Jays have been in a nosedive the past couple weeks so I guess a change was inevitable.

I remember seeing an onion article about how no one could watch baseball anymore because of the lack of pitchers hitting .124. There definitely will be something about how people hate that they can’t see mistakes being made anymore when the U-1000s come in.

Fun fact about Jays new interim manager John Schneider.

I knew he had been in their farm system as a coach for years, but never realized he was a Jays prospect too.

Drafted in 02 by Jays, last pro season was 07 in Jays AAA affiliate, became Jays catching instructor in 08, rookie ball coach in 09, went through their system and now is their manager.

20 years and 1 month from when he was drafted by the Jays, he's now their MLB coach. I'd imagine he's one of the organizations longest tenured people.

And his new bench coach is the Jays AAA coach Casey Candaele, who used to play with Craig Biggio (of course, now Cavan Biggio is one of the guys he's managing). Biggio was the Astros catcher when he first came up and Candaele was their 2B. Biggio of course would wind up being their starting 2B and move Candaele around the field.

He's a great candidate, but that is a weak argument.

Wins are already an overrated stat as is, and win percentage is directly tied to wins. Innings pitched is great if you're doing well in those innings (also nice to rest bullpen arms but better if dominant), and you'll naturally get more strikeouts if you pitch more innings.

I think his ERA and K/9 would've been decent arguments alone.

Maybe if he helped his team out time to time while in the lineup every day, his team would be in contention in such a weakass division.

I found this article on the matter interesting. I don't pretend to know the truth but a valid claim is presented here, in my opinion.

Talk of Freddie Freeman's celebrated divorce from the Braves just won't die, despite the Dodgers first baseman's campaign to paint himself as the victim.

It could be true that Freeman said I will only take 6 years.

We may find out if the lawsuit actually makes it to discovery. Not sure that it will though. It would be easy to prove if Freeman was told about the deal or not by looking at phone records.

Juan Soto just turned down the Nationals' $440 million offer.

The Nationals will now entertain a potential trade.

                                Just checked game logs.

On July 4th, Josh Hader had a 1.05 ERA and 1.71 FIP.

Eleven days later, these numbers ballooned to 4.50 and 3.88, respectively.

                                Wow.
