As a small business owner myself I'm interested to see how this plays out. Our logo is our brand, I'm not sure how I would feel about seeing it in a different color.

As a baseball fan, it's potentially a huge win for the fans. Granted not every owner is going to care as much about public perception as Cohen does, but if companies were willing to allow their patch colors to match uniform colors, this would satisfy all of us.
It’s much smaller, but I like what the Celtics did with the GE logo patch on their uniform to make it match

A huge win for the fans would be saying, no patch ads for my team, thanks.

It doesn't. It's just different so it's bad.

Yeah I think rather than brushing the salt off all of our shoulders and complaining about the patches, we're all better off taking small victories where we can get them. They're hear, they're staying we're stuck with them, period, fuill stop.

Anything to make them less in our face is a win at this point.

Smaller and less obtrusive, pretty good in my book.

Matching colors to go with that would be a massive win.

Trevor Bauer will be vlogging his experiences in Japan. Very much a culture clash, but it is amazing to see how the Japanese treat professional athletes. I've always heard wrestlers talk about their experiences in Japan, so it's cool to see it from the baseball side of things.

My big thing was a sports store dedicated solely to baseball. You hardly ever see that over here.

My issue with the ads on uniforms is this (all sports, not just MLB):

You've got athletes making obscene amounts of money. Of course, they make that money because their sport brings in obscene amounts of revenue. So I can live with that.

But it would be nice if the leagues were content with the obscene amount of revenue they already generate, instead of looking for every last dollar they can find.

Well, the guy wasn't charged and he claims he's innocent. He also has been making YouTube videos for 11 years prior, so it isn't like he suddenly took up video making just to film himself about his experience in Japan.

It is reasonable to say, that if for some other reason than his accusation / suspension and practical banishment from baseball, his career unfolded in a way that took him to Japan anyways it feels like this would be something he would natural do and not just something to get on fans' good grace or whatever.

I mean, is the guy supposed to stop living?

At the same time, yeah, he knows what he is doing.

Not that you don't already know this, but... as someone who has worked on and off with EA over the years, and have dealt with MLB/MLBPA, NHL/NHLPA, FIFA/UEFA, nothing will EVER be enough. Profit maximization now and forever. Sometimes this works out to the benefit of fans/consumers, sometimes not.

Not just the leagues, every company ever is like that.

Their goal is 1m, they make 1.5m, "that's great, but now I think we can aim for 2m".

No. Whether one believes he's a great guy, a creep who should be in jail, or somewhere in between, I don't think this qualifies. He may be using it in part to launder his own reputation, but it's a personal vlog, not directly associated with his league/club, so nobody is forced to interact with it. He isn't spending money to co-opt someone else's reputation/fanbase to improve his own. If Bauer bought an NPB team, or if he started sponsoring the LLWS or something, then yeah, I'd probably consider that sportswashing.
