Yeah, I worked with most of the "Dream Team" players (including the immortal Erik Kiss) when I joined the EA team in early '99 (a couple months before Triple Play 2000 launched, which was my first game credit).
Steve was Triple Play's Executive Producer when I joined, and shortly thereafter he oversaw the internal mini-studio in Vancouver that included Triple Play, WCW, and SSX. I remember Rechtschaffner primarily for 2 things, both involving the Vancouver Grizzlies:
1. For the Triple Play 2001 wrap party (this would've been March 2000, the naming convention was weird back then), the dev team got a suite at GM Place to watch the Grizz lose to the Shaq/Kobe Lakers. At one point, Steve spots another EA exec sitting courtside, makes a paper airplane out of one of the giveaway signs, and tells a few of us he's going to hit the courtside exec. And then... he did! From a suite to courtside during a game - a one in a million shot. I've seen Gretzky, Tiger, and Messi live, but that's the most amazing feat I've ever witnessed at a sporting event, LOL.
2. Anytime there's a Grizzlies retrospective, you'll see this photo from their final home game before the team moved to Memphis, one which nicely encapsulates the franchise history in Vancouver. Even now, if you Google "Grizzlies worst team ever", this sign pops up. Steve Rechtschaffner is the one who made and is holding the sign.
