Bonds averaged 36 homers per season 1990-1998. 40 if you go per 162.

Jumped to 49 per year 1999-2004, only 1 year under 40, an injury shortened 1999. 58 homers per 162... and keep in mind, this is when teams just flat refused to pitch to him.

A-Rod also immediately had his best seasons when he began his steroid use in 2001.

I think it helped pitchers more, the biggest advantage being recovery time.

Just because people take steroids doesn't mean they're an MVP.

Steroids could even just be the difference between you being an AA player or a bench guy in the majors. Or the difference between flaming out after college or having a minors career.

And not that we're comparing right now, but I said it at the time: as a pitcher, I'd much rather face hitters who are juiced up than hitters who know what pitch of mine is coming (not to mention it also gives baserunners an edge).

I definitely found the electronic sign-stealing to be a much bigger black eye on the sport, even though it was very narrowly-focused.

          Good news.

Toby Swanson (Erik's 4 year old who got hit by a car) is our of intensive care and Erik's back with the team.

Doesn't mean he's close to 100%, but I'd assume/hope he's much better than before if Erik is comfortable leaving.

Edit - In fact, been a rough couple months to start the year for my childood hero's. RIP also Jose DeLeon, Don Gullett. Plus 3 managers from that time, Jimy Williams, Bud Harrelson and Billy Gardner.

I like the field and stands.

That roof though...what is it? And why/how is it green?

Probably the same panels they use on Fremont or in the Sphere.

Super cool design! I can't wait to (hopefully) go watch some games!

What the **** is that roof? Get rid of it and it'll look 100% better.

Think they're forgoing the cost of a retractable roof because more often than not it would be closed, I believe they said.

Loosely related, the huge doors on the side of Allegiant Stadium seem to have been a mistake, they've been open for no events and the Raiders concierge for my season tickets has never been able to find out any information about the criteria or events they're open for.

Now to see if it actually happens. I don't think the legal challenges are really expected to get anywhere, just a matter of the A's doing their part funding-wise. The Tropicana hotel currently on the site is closing up shop 4/2 to prepare for demolition.

They have Paris, Italy, Egypt, NYC... isn't it natural they add Sydney??!

So, they currently have $380M in public funding for that $1.5B stadium... I'm really curious how Fisher comes up with the rest.

This really the last big piece, if/when this is answered a lot of things become real for a lot of people. The skepticism is well-placed until proven otherwise.
