It clearly appears inspired, though I like the look.

Even still, and I say this every time there is a new proposal... I really wish that first Cisco Field design worked out. One of my favorite stadium designs that never came to be.

I just want to know what they are going to do with the dimensions. Gotta see what the sabermetrics guys come up with. Payroll is going to be horrible but maybe tweaking the dimensions will help put a winning team out there (or it backfires and the dimensions make them lose even more games lol).

Swanson speaks publicly for the first time since his kid ended up in the hospital.

Says that by the end of the week he'll be out of the hospital and going home.

Great news obviously, especially with the news when it first came out and it seemed like it was real severe. You never know how much that kids life might be changed forever (physically more than anything).

Hope he's out there on the Jays home opener for the first pitch. Standing ovation from 40,000+ fans for sure.

I wonder how the winds will blow in a structure like that. I do like the roof being functional, at least it appears from the graphic up on it in the one picture. Could do some cool things if those panels are interactive / colored.

I don’t mind them trying something new and different for this park, but it has to work. Like mestevo said, Allegiant has those Lanai doors that never are opened.

It’s such a massive investment you would think the features should be used regularly.

I appreciate this. Definitely have nicknames for some players past and present based off inside jokes with friends. Cole Hamels has always been Coles Hamel because some drunk guy kept calling him that at some party we were at during his rookie season. It’s so dumb but it’s so amusing.

Robert Woods = Bobby Trees is my favorite currently. Think I heard it first from some fantasy football clip.

Kind of a cool stat/trivia note to me:

Rickey Henderson played MLB games in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

And yet he would have had to play an additional 3 seasons without missing a game to play in more games than Pete Rose did. And he would need to average 2.5 hits per game in those seasons to pass Rose's hit total.

That's crazy, I never realised Rickey had 14 seasons where he played fewer than 135 games and Pete had 4 seasons where he played fewer than 135 games. Didn't know Henderson missed so much playing time.

His career also spanned Carl Yastrzemski (or Minnie Miñoso if you want to cheat) to Miguel Cabrera!

That also means this will be the first season since the 1940s (or late 50s depending if you want to count Minoso) where there isn't a player in the league who has or will have played in the same MLB season as Ricky Henderson!?

I wonder what his percentage is. Vince Carter had a stat where he played with or against a certain percentage of players in NBA history. MLB is a bit different since there was no interleague and you don't face ever player/pitcher, but Ricky's "played in the same season as ___" stat has to cover a good percentage of MLB history.

Almost 150 years of the MLB and about half of those years has featured at least 1 player who played in the same season as Ricky Henderson.
