This is pretty interesting and could be a huge asset to player development/scouting in the future.

We know the young man, Mike Trout. We also know what happens to the ball when the young man hits it and can measure it with the oldest of baseball statistics or the newest, demonstrating he is,...

No you have let's say 30 teams in MLB, 30 teams in AAA, 30 teams in AA, and 30 teams in A. All those teams stay in that league until the end of the season.
Except, I don't think AAA teams would be part of the equation.
If we're entertaining pigs flying and Cubs winning, MLB would split the league in two 15-team divisions.
In that case, the bottom 3 teams teams of the Top Tier who would be relegated would be the Giants, Twins and Nationals, while the Orioles, Indians and Rays would get moved to the Top Tier.

Yea I was just using that as an example to help Speedy understand.

If Trout hits a baseball with a smart bat, does it still produce traditional stats?

              In this hypothetical madness...

I would totally keep the Minor League Affiliate system...

Just divide the Majors into TWO LEAGUES...
16 teams per...OR...18 in the top and 14 in the bottom.

The relegation / promotion would only take place between these two leagues.

              **sorry, redsox...just saw your clarification

yeah, I replied before seeing it.

If it wasn't for the "need" for a farm system, your explanation would be the most awesome arrangement, I think.

Trading away three future all-stars for half a season of Bartolo Colon definitely didn't help the future of that franchise.
