I was wondering where those rankings were. I agree with the assessment in regards to the Jays broadcasters. Buck Martinez is still razor sharp when he's in the analyst role but when he has to be the PBP guy with a dullard like Tabler it can be painful to listen to.

And let me clarify, as much as I love the Kruk/Kuip duo for San Francisco, the only thing I can't handle is one without the other (or more so when the roles are reversed for any reason). I don't like hearing much of what Kuip has to comment on outside of calling the game, and any time Kuip is in the bathroom or whatever and Kruk starts off the inning calling the PBP, it sounds so wrong in so many ways.

They have to stick to their roles. This is true for Martinez as a color analyst only as well.

I may be an outlier, but as a complete White Sox neutral I actually enjoy Harrelson's shtick. John Sterling on the hand is just trash.

So Odor gets 8 games and Bautista gets 1.

                    Sure.

Maybe he should consider becoming Joey Dukes.

I don't really know what I want from a commentator. I guess my dream would be the Yankees to have what the Knicks have, a guy who can talk over the game keeping it interesting and ramping up the excitement at the right time alongside an expert who can analyze and provide a little flair on top of it. Im not sure who the appropriate equivalent would be in baseball. I don't mind Michael Kay, he's like the Michael Cole of baseball broadcasting to me. He's passable. I sometimes envy the fans of teams who have guys who are big fans commentating, I'd like to have a guy with vested interest mostly I think. As far as the rotating chairs, I love Paulie and Coney. Ken Singleton puts me to sleep damn near instantly, I can't stand him.

                          I'm a big fan of Dan Dickerson's.
Smooth delivery and low-key. "Heeeee got 'em on strikes!" is as about excited as he gets.
(love that signature line as well).

Hawk Harrelson is a guilty pleasure of mine. His over-the-top homerism is highly entertaining to me.

Let's not insult Michael Kay comparing him to Cole who only says whatever Vince McMahon wants him to say.

Anywho, I wish there were more characters calling games. I guess you could say Harrelson is one but he's just so bloody annoying. Whenever I see a vintage broadcast with Harry Caray or Phil Rizzuto I smile because while their schtick can be overbearing at times they truly loved following their team.

                              Ah well....

Eh, its the same to me. Every time Michael Kay says lets look at our "Insert company name here" Scouting Report it makes me want to use the hashtag #WWEChampionshipMatch to talk about the new Raw lol. Cole isn't an awful commentator when let off the rails like he is in Japan and when he runs the NXT commentary, he's just a company man. I think Kay is the same.
