That's nice but it has nothing to do with this overcooked topic getting resurrected all the time for no reason. It's beyond stupid that this topic comes up every time the HoF is discussed for every player. I hope it wasn't like this when they started inducting players who had played on integrated teams.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I wouldn't mind a reduction from 162 to 154 games (how it was before 1961). It allows for more days off/travel days and presumably a better product/less fatigue and injuries. The decrease isn't so drastic as to make it an entirely new game or invalidate all the previous records, either (people don't get bothered that Babe Ruth hit 60 HRs in fewer games than Maris hit 61 any longer). Having 154 games also allows for MLB to ditch the unbalanced schedule (and hopefully interleague play) if they want to do that.
In reality, people will have to look closely at what this would do to statistics and what that means for player salaries. More importantly, would owners want to stomach lost revenue from having 4 fewer home games, 4 fewer games of gate receipts % as the visiting team, and 8 fewer games of lost TV advertising revenue.Comment

So what? I do what I want. Just have one AL and one NL team per day have split squad games. Problem solved!Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Twins fire Terry Ryan. Good - hopefully this means everyone and everything is jettisoned out of the organization. Not holding my breath on that though.Comment

Cardinals are going to get hurt on this one. It'll be interesting to see how Manfred lays the hammer.

Wow, I never would've thought that. I guess it was more nefarious then guessing the password? I got lost on this one.
They should make the Cards play with 7 fielders. Fair? Fair.
I'm completely unbiased!!!!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

However- the Twins love organizational incest like few other franchises. Any time an old hand gets canned (like the guy Cincy hired from the Twins some time ago) they just re-hire them.
I'll believe it when I see it.Comment

I always liked Terry Ryan but the Twins need a different approach ASAP. Hopefully the new GM won't keep Molitor on a short leash. I think he has the capability of being a pretty good manager.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Each team needs to play 12 doubleheaders, that's one every two weeks.
This will allow for plenty of opportuniies to play makeup games.
I too am for reduced interleague games, there should be fewer so that each IL game is made more special.
Then expand by 2 teams.
My candidates to find those 2 cities for consideration:
On the short list:
1) San Antonio
2) Indianapolis
3) Charlotte
4) Montreal
Cities ''on the bubble'':
5) Jacksonville
6) Memphis
7) Louisville
8) Portland
Have 2 8-team divisions each league.
Play the teams in your division 12 games (7X12=84)
Play the teams in the other division 8 times (8X8=64)
Play 10 interleague games. (84+64+10=158)
Alternately you could have 4 4-team divisions each league.
Play the teams in your division 18 games (3X18=54)
Play the teams in the other divisions 8 times (8X12=96)
Play 8 interleague games (54+96+8=158)
183 days with a chance to have 37 off days (Providing you don't have a rainout).Last edited by Ghost Of The Year; 07-19-2016, 01:50 AM.T-BONE.
