It's absurd. I'm not angry or anything, just think it's funny. I remember a clip I saw this morning where Amsinger said he thinks he makes it to the majors, I just put my head in my hands man. I thought we had gotten past the Tebow Era.
Ah I didn't realize it was on MLBN. I heard on the radio this morning that a scout said he looked like an actor trying to play baseball. I didn't see any of his workout, but Tebow is always going to draw attention. I really hope he doesn't get signed so everyone can just move on, but I'm sure he'd have another workout during spring training.

Heard Tebow's got a nice midrange jumper...
      NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
      NFL - Buffalo Bills
      MLB - Cincinnati Reds

        That's a perfect description.
I watched the video of him hitting, and his swing looked really stiff. Maybe nerves?
He did jack one 430-feet, but when he faced real pitching, he didn't do well.

What I don't get is, if he's unwilling to play anything but QB for an NFL team, would he seriously be okay riding buses in the minor leagues?

P.S. Read that the Cubs refused to send a scout because they believe this is nothing but a publicity stunt.
I wonder how long before Tebow is starring in The Bachelor: Virgin Islands.

Interesting report that apparently the team who claimed Puig didn't entirely want him, but did so to block another team from getting him(meaning Dodgers talking trades with that team). One admitted unconfirmed report yesterday(by verified account) said Red Sox were that mystery team. If true, would make sense. Jays could've tried getting Puig, but Sox blocking them from doing so this year at least could help them in 2016 playoff race.

Jays still could go after him in offseason given FA status of both Bautista and Saunders(Pillar/Upton their only signed OFers), but obviously the value isn't as high than if they added him now in playoff race. Even if he's not on playoff roster, still could give Bautista and Saunders extra rest at times as they go into playoffs.

Either way, just a few more hours till deadline, hope Jays get a lefty reliever. Even if Liriano is the playoff option for lefty specialist, won't hurt adding another for September, especially in AL East heavy month.

Trout's officially the leader in bWAR through an age 24 season, with a month left. That's almost a full 10 above Griffey, but that goes without saying as we all know he's better than him anyway...

Toronto already has 4 outfielders who are capable of starting. Sure, 40-man roster so Puig would have a spot, but why? He's been trouble for awhile now. I'd take Pillar's defense over his. You want Bautista's bat over his. Saunders it depends on what you get. Maybe Puig is above Upton when he's on his game. Otherwise, I trust Upton with what he's done lately. Bautista has gotten plenty of rest with 2 DL stints.

                  Saunders is a chandelier.
Bautista is a DH for another two months and then gone .
Pillar has dealt with injuries and is one human.
                  Upton is a 4th OF.
                  Carrera is awful.
                  Lake is awful.
Org clearly thinks Pompey is awful.

                  Yeah, I'd take Puig.

It's amazing his WORST fWAR is 7.9 thru five seasons.

...it's more so amazing that he doesn't have a $200MM+ contract.

I remember when Barry was breaking Hank's record how big a deal they were making it that Hank wouldn't be there and they did the video tribute thing.

I didn't know that he broke the record in Milwaukee and Selig was in town and just chose not to show up. How disrespectful to the sport you're supposed to represent, and then he was front and center with the Maris family when McGwire broke that record. The way he played favorites just makes me sick. Selig is such a scumbag it makes me hate the Brewers just by association.

Eh, I think Upton is not as bad as a lot of people make him out to be. I don't like his swing though, it's gotta be the laziest looking hack i've ever seen from a big leaguer. That being said, I think he's competent enough in LF. The question remains to be seen what the Jays think of this version of Saunders. Do they keep him or let him walk? I guess we'll see.

Saunders should stay, but no long term deal. 2-3 at most I'd think about. Would be nice if he has similar future as Jayson Werth. Started career around 22-23, wasn't that notable of a player, once he hit 29, he had a good 20+HR,.270 season and career went uphill from there.

Bonds broke it in San Francisco (756, that is). I can't think of a single milestone home run that he hit in Milwaukee or against the Brewers, for that matter. Maybe you're saying that between 755 and 756 they played in Milwaukee and Bud wasn't there?

I was at PETCO Park when Bonds hit 755, and when I caught the highlights afterward I saw that Selig was there (in like a luxury box or something) and didn't seem very pleased that he hit it lol. I don't think he was at 756 though.
