No he's fine. But i want to win the world series and Upton seems like the easiest place for the team to upgrade. He's a good 4th OF and a below avg regular. Puig is your friend.

Mehhhh. Lot of luck this year. Awful 2nd half. Injury prone. I don't know if I'd QO him. I guess if we aren't up near $150m I would, but that money can be better spent elsewhere. He should probably accept a QO.

So I was watching some of the Mets game. Man, I love listening to Keith Hernandez and er, I forget the PBP guy's name but man, they get into some weird tangents like talking about astrological signs for almost a full half innings. I dunno what it is about them that I like, it's like listening to two old friends just chit chatting about baseball.

I was at PETCO Park when Bonds hit 755, and when I caught the highlights afterward I saw that Selig was there (in like a luxury box or something) and didn't seem very pleased that he hit it lol. I don't think he was at 756 though.
Going to wikipedia I think they're talking about breaking the NL career record, he hit 733 and 734 in Milwaukee.

Wow... Brewers were the team that claimed Puig... Trade talks involved Braun.

I seriously didnt think my Brewers would even try for him!

Fully expect those talks to be revisited this off season.

Braves are interested in Tim Tebow

That makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways. Going to Milwaukee would be the perfect kind of destination for Puig, smaller market, dedicated fanbase but you're not going to get roasted by the national media for every little thing.

I fully expect a bigger deal consumated by those two in the offseason.

                    Re: MLB Off-Topic

I was sitting around thinking of the two most epic at-bats I have ever seen live (not in person, but just as they happened):

                    1) Bonds' at-bat versus Gagne when he fouled a 100+ MPH fastball into McCovey Cove, then the very next pitched cranked a 100+ MPH fastball over the RCF wall for a home run.

                    2) Cesar Izturis with a 20-pitch AB that ended in a home run.

Then I came up with what I would consider to be the most epic AB of all-time that I would love to see:

A 20-pitch AB that ends in a home run... but before that the batte hits an obvious foul home run (like Bonds into the Cove), then later in the AB the pitcher gets injured throwing a pitch and is taken out of the game for a pitcher of the opposite hand, forcing this hitter to switch to the other side (he'll be a switch-hitter, I forgot to mention that), homers only for a replay review to call it foul and send him back, and then he eventually homers fair. Maybe a broken or flying bat somewhere in the mix too.

Why not just have the pitcher decide to intentionally walk the batter on the 3-2 after all that, only for him to swing at the pitch and HR, but doesn't touch each base and gets called out when the defensive team appeals it?

                        Actually, that's not bad!

And I know I'm outspoken on the subject matter, but I do feel it's unfair that I'm the one who's pegged as the bad guy in this situation. I'm for the legal process in the sport, especially when it obviously matters. No better or worse than running the bases on a home run in a legal sense, seriously though.

Well that can't happen because pretty soon there won't be any IBB pitches and guys will just be pointing and walking to first.

Haha, I was totally just messing around trying to top your crazy scenario. I've enjoyed your commentary on the IBB and documentation on when minds change and what the outcome ends up being. Doesn't happen often, but it does enough to make me think twice.

For what it's worth, I'm good with whatever ends up happening with the IBB.

Can the Mets please go back to their '86 era uniforms (at least the home one) on a permanent basis from now on? I really love the ol' racing car stripes and the pullover jersey look.

Former Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos is one of the final candidates for the Twins President of Baseball Ops job.

That's pretty interesting stuff if he gets the job. At least with Minnesota he'll know that when he asks for money and is denied than there really is NO money to give him. He's pretty good with building a farm system despite trading most of it away in his final year in Toronto. I have a feeling he'll cherry pick any folks (that haven't been dismissed) out of Toronto if he gets the job.
