And yet the D'Backs gave up 36 more runs that the Reds (1 more than the Twins). The same D'Backs with the vaunted rotation of Greinke et al. ended up being the worst at run prevention in the game. 30th out of 30 teams. They probably could've finished that way without giving Greinke $200MM.

I just don't think Hale was the one who should've been turfed. At least you can understand the Stewart firing.
Not sure if this post is a joke or not...

This news is the opposite of surprising. It shows only that D'Backs ownership is not in a persistent vegetative state. When you have people clearly in over their heads, making ridiculously mockable trades, you would be insane to let it continue. Not a rash move at all. If you are bringing in a new GM, that GM will want to get his own manager.

Harold Reynolds and Billy Ripken, I don't think I'll be watching much MLBN coverage this October. I need to preserve my mental health.

I fully understand the firing of Stewart in fact, I've never thought he was GM material. I remember when he was in the Blue Jays front office and he basically blew a gasket, complained bitterly and ran off after the Jays hired JP Ricciardi instead of him. That showed me he didn't have the maturity to be making those kind of moves with a ballclub.

I think Hale should be deserving of another shot as manager. I mean, the Jays didn't go fire Gibby after they remade their team with Dickey, Reyes, etc etc.

I'm sure La Russa will hire some good baseball people and I wouldn't doubt that one of em might come out of STL.

Ripken has a slight idiot savant feel to him as opposed to Reynolds who has rock for brains.

Wasn't Gibbons hired right around the same time the Reyes and Dickey deals happened?

Trout in a runaway. I get i might be annoying at this point on the matter. Last year I thought Trout should've also won but he and Donaldson were very close and I can get using being on a playoff team as a tie-breaker. This year i really don't get it and Mookie had a very good year... but i just don't believe 1 year defensive metrics makes up for the really big difference in the offensive numbers between the two.

You are correct but in the case of Hale this was only his SECOND season. His first season was not unreasonable based on the lack of talent there. Yes, they were 10 games worse this season but when you consider how these "offseason winners" often fare than it's not entirely his fault is it?
