    re: MLB Off-Topic

The incompetency of the current Blue Jays management knows no bounds. So earlier in the offseason there was a report the Jays were talking to Kevin Long about the hitting coach job. 24 hrs later they say "oh no, Kevin Seitzer will be back as hitting coach." Yeah well, Seitzer is now the hitting coach for the Atlanta Braves.

    UGH!

Braves fans will love what he does though. He will bring a different philosophy to hitting that a lot of those guys if they give him a chance, will thrive with as Seitzer is very much into the idea of using the big part of the ballpark and hitting away from the shift WITHOUT resorting to bunting. This move bums me out big time as it seemed he was getting his message across to the younger hitters who came up late in the year.

Third hitting coach in 3 years now SMH.

haha I have a feelings Braves fans will love anything compared to the ol' hit it 8 rows deep or strike out trying to hit it 15 rows deep.

Pretty sure Adam Lind is on his way out the door. Only reason they made this move I would think. They now have 4 1B on the active roster.

Yeah, Smoak will probably be the every day guy which means Lind is on the trade market. I've heard that the Pirates are one team that's very interested in him.

Seattle has interest in Lind as well.

Yeah i've heard that too. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything AA will do regarding Lind.

Thank you! The Justin Smoak nightmare is finally over! Although if he follows the trend of other Mariners that end up on other teams, he'll probably start fulfilling his potential and hit 30 bombs next season.

I hope Smoak will be like so many Jays players who leave and at least fulfill SOME of their potential elsewhere. I think he really needs a change of scenery and Toronto can provide that for him.

No matter how many times it happens, I'm always amazed that people don't check if the gun is LOADED before cleaning it.

The bright side I guess is that he cannot be any worse than he was here in Seattle. Almost 2000 plate appearances and most of it useless. In his time here, he has been the very definition of an AAAA player.
