Hmm, I liked the Marlins' announcers, specifically the PBP guy. Didn't know his name though.

Was he let go, or something? I hope he gets a job somewhere else.

Pretty decent day for MLB birthdays

I must be slow, because I thought MLB's Jackie Robinson Day was on his birthday.

Is it the day of his death? The day he debuted/broke the color barrier? The 42nd day after the season starts? A random date of no particular importance other than to deem it so?

It's the date he made his MLB debut.

Also, today would've been his 99th birthday

Radio or TV? If it's radio than Dave Van Horne must've retired.

I'll miss Severino, he isn't flashy but I think he does a very good job at the desk.

April 15, 1947....broke the color barrier by making his debut with the Dodgers.

Most of them were fired by the new ownership group.

Hopefully Severino still appears on MLB Network but it doesn't seem like it.

Stat of the day: Tony Gwynn faced the vaunted Braves trio of Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux 270 times. He struck out a total of 3 times and hit .394 against them.
