    Re: MLB Off-Topic

So the Angels' network just showed a graphic of Shohei Ohtani, and it displayed his DL stint last year.

Do they not retroactively go back and change that name to the IL, even though it was from a previous year? Shouldn't they be more socially aware? Makes me want to switch broadcasts, grr!

During the course of Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak, below are two different player's numbers (one of these are Joe D's).

        Player A: .412/.540/.684 (1.224 OPS), 50 BB, 9 SO

        Player B: .408/.463/.717 (1.181 OPS), 21 BB, 5 SO

Which are Joe's numbers, and who is the other player?

That's what I would've said based on Player B having fewer strikeouts (and fewer walks).

It didn't get mentioned on here, but the other day in the Yankees-Royals game, we had the first ever 0 vs 0 matchup when Adam Ottavino pitched to Terrence Gore.

Countless teams over the years have tweaked their logo. Not a change you'll notice unless you see old and new logo side by side and realize they used slightly different shade.`

I really want to know who is doing most re-designs. So many are the most pointless changes ever. It's like the logo designer was like "I haven't done anything in awhile. I should probably tweak the logo abit so I have something to give my supervisor when they ask "what have you done lately."".

On flip side, there's others who have great logos staring them in the face but they just don't use it as a primary (Brewers/Rays alternate are 2 main examples here)

So basically the colors are darker and they dropped the MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL script. Well, at least they didn't mess with something that ain't broke.

BTW as for trivia the silhouette on the MLB logo is Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew.

                          Nice interview with Jason Heyward...

No matter his struggles, Jason Heyward has found ways to help his team. Now he's in a groove at the plate, and he opened up about his time in Chicago.

If MLB had a "ballpark cam", would you watch it? I dont just mean during games, I mean like being able to live stream batting practice as well.

For all the talk of VR being the future of sports consumption, I think that'd be a cool thing to have. That extra ballpark feel just getting to watch BP while having music blasting in the stadium.

A change MLB should consider I heard brought up on TV. Have the home team take BP last.

Teams are usually done BP by time gates open so fans don't get to see their team. The visitors hit after, but I'm sure most fans would rather see their own guys, and might try harder getting there early to see it.

For young fans as well, you know theres a good chance at getting a ball during BP if you're sitting by the field or in OF. Might mean more getting it hit from the team you cheer for, and also, allows those fans to get autographs from players.

A mini thing like that goes a long way in getting kids hooked on baseball. I remember how much all the little things like that meant growing up and going to the ballpark.

This is a great idea and I remember it being brought up last year as well. The problem is that visiting clubs would have to get to park earlier, and all of the logistical issues that come with that. I’m not sure that I fully understand why this would be such a holdup, but clearly it is since having a bigger draw for fans to be in the stadium longer could only mean increased revenues for teams.

I know the Yankees tried a program where they opened the gates early for several summer games last year so fans could come see home batting practice.
