So MLB is now giving teams cameras to steal signs ... coming soon to every MLB ballpark.

I still don't know how I feel about it, honestly. As much as I like the human element in the calling of the game, umps like Angel Hernandez constantly demonstrate the need for this. Maybe it's just a natural evolution of the game through technology.

It'll be weird once it gets implemented in regular season (whenever that happens) and I'd have to start using the "Perfect" strike zone in The Show to emulate it. Those personalized zones can affect the game so much.
Maybe they use it to finally fire umps. Allow some human error, but once you are over a % wrong you are removed for retraining and put in the minors. You work your way back or you are gone.

Why would you want incorrect calls?

I can live with some human error, as long as they are boderline calls. It depends on how the cameras will call strikes and if there will be any differences from ballpark to ballpark, batter to batter, etc. Strike zones are different and how the cameras adjust to a hitters stance and how they measure it on the fly will help me decide if I want them call the pitches.

Glad we have players coming out and basically saying cheating is worth it with these penalties. Good job Manfred.

I've said it before but if people just dont like baseball it wont matter if a game last 3 hours or 1 hour, they are not gonna watch. Joe Maddon got it right, it's more about the pace of play than the length of the actual game.

Jeter and Larry Walker whatever. Both are fine.

What concerns me is that Raul Ibanez only got one vote.

I think the only people that talk about the length of games anymore are talking heads. Manfred started focusing on the lack of action a couple of years ago when they got rid of throwing intentional walk pitches.

It's not about game length or pace of play.

It's about people in charge of determining what's cool determining baseball is not. Period.

My favorite part of the HoF ballots is those 2-3 guys who are career journeymen that somehow receive a vote or two from their hometown beat writers or whomever. I almost wonder if someone is out there just not wanting guys to get zero votes.
