I've heard O'Brien on ESPN Radio and on their TV broadcasts. He'll do a good job in Boston I think.

BTW in other news the Padres are on the hunt for a new manager. I'd go after someone from Matheny's staff in STL.

Phil Nevin is the frontrunner for the job.

            Re: MLB Off-Topic

Although it was a painful season as a Reds fan, they played it pretty well front office wise. Dealt 3-4 guys for what's already looking like a good return (the pitchers we got back from the Cueto to KC deal specifically), called it a season at the ASG, and let the kids play ball a bit, enough to be hopeful while still losing enough to build on the moves with a high pick next season.

I'm not a fan of outright tanking, so I'm glad the team didn't run out vets regularly and instead took their lumps with guys who might be here for a turnaround. Wasting a historic year from Votto sucks, but them's the breaks.

Next season will probably be another throwaway, hopefully we see some progress at least, then hope for a bit more in 2017 before getting back to really challenging the NL Central in 2018. The way they run things in STL and now in PIT and CHC is going to be a major obstacle but to be the best ya gotta beat the best. The Cards are a model of consistency, the Pirates are on their way to that level (and always seem to make shrewd, smart moves of late), and the Cubs can supplement all of their young studs with some pocket money and are likely on their way to consistent baseball with Epstein at the helm and Maddon in the dugout.

I'd favor a division realignment. LOL

Completely justified. Announcers should be next.

That sucks a bit, Randy Knorr is not a bad coach from what i've heard. I guess they decided to throw the baby with the bathwater.

It sounds like they're gearing up for a purge. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of key parts to the team as it stands right now gone.

Did Williams hire a majority of the staff or did he inherent them?

I think they will let Desmond go an use Turner. Let Zimmerman go and use Giolito (eventually). Let Fister go and use Roark. Let Span go and use Taylor instead. And let go Dan Uggla...no need to substitute Dan Uggla

                          Maybe trade Mr. Chokeman away.

That's a bit surprising. I hope he can pull through okay as alcoholism is a horrible self affliction.

I guess we should've seen something like this coming especially after the bar/club brawl he had in Toronto earlier this year.
