In order to understand the local thought process, you have to understand the history. Former Mayor Tom Vandergriff nearly single handedly brought the Senators here after years of trying. Any Mayor that squanders that legacy will be voted out in the next cycle. I will vote yes in November as this is still a good deal for my hometown

I don't have a problem with changing the zone, I doubt I'll even notice. Im not sure on the intentional walk thing, I saw a good example on another site of it being like a coach walking to a ref in an NBA game and saying "we want that guy to shoot free throws" and not having to actually commit the foul. I like the few odd chances where there's a wild pitch, or when Miggy got that hit. And I don't think it'll do anything toward cutting time so it's pointless in that regard as well.

I am still amazed that Dick Enberg is still calling games. He's always been one of my favorites across the NFL, NCAA, and the few MLB games I get to hear him call. I wish the Padres were better so their games would generate more national interest.

My big gripe is their insistence that the announcers talk about analytics. I get it- it's fangraphs- baseball nerds love talking about crazy numbers with wacky abbreviations, but frankly, that's what sites like FanGraphs are for. I just don't like when the analytics crowd pushes it on everyone or act like you're a moron/clueless dinosaur for not appreciating fancy stats as much as they do. They're just not for everyone and they don't have to be.

I apologize for the mini-rant but the ability to talk about analytics is not the hallmark of a great announcer in my humble opinion.

Well, they did rank Vin Scully #1 on their list, and Vin Scully is a guy who's more likely to talk about Madison Bumgarner chopping up snakes than he is about DIPS theory or wRC+.

That's true, but it was also a no-brainer.

They seemed to be a little more lenient towards the older announcers as long as you didn't ever say anything bad about stats, which is why they crapped on Dick Bremer and Hawk Harrelson. Didn't seem terribly consistent.

There's a difference between talking analytics and craping on them. You make mention of both scenarios.

Given the list, I do hope people give the Giants' announcing crews, for radio or TV, a solid listen someday. I just knew somehow they would be behind Scully though for the top spot though.

There isn't much homerism outside of emotion for a particular moment, either.

The only caveat is for it to be best, Duane Kuiper must be with Mike Krukow on TV.

As far as radio, they have Jon Miller (come on!) and Dave Fleming. What I fear most is that Fleming might leave for full-time national broadcasting someday (he's that good), and the other three are getting up there in age and may retire soon.

I cannot go back to Joe Angel, please no, never! Even Ted Robinson was not my favorite. These guys are the best, but they are only here and now. I might not be able to say that in 2020.

Keep in mind, there are other TV guys that I really do like, just not as much as SF. Unfortunately, I'm not a big Scully fan, though I will admit he's really good at keeping a conversation going with himself for a full game.

On the contrary: I have already mentioned my displeasure of past Giants announcers, as well as possible future Giants announcers. I also couldn't care less about Kruk without Kuip, and the other way around (and they also are terrible in the MVP Baseball video game series). Finally, Miller is a national broadcast phenom, and Fleming is soon to be one (which most everyone agrees about who have heard them, and cannot say the same for one Joe Morgan).

Most other people also haven't heard the other announcers. I have. I have not given them all 20+ games or anything like that, and as I said I do like a lot of others... but there are also a lot that I dislike.
