When did they put those in? I know they weren't always there.

I always liked how Comerica, and the NL park escapes me, had the nod to olden days with the dirt track between home and the mound.

The best was the explanation for it in Arizona. Their coach said "Well, we're gonna be making a lot of trips to the mound, so no sense in killing grass"

Wasn't the Detroit story that it was supposed to help their pitchers pitch in the strike zone?
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I don't even know how to go about instituting something like this. When people use the argument "the human element" to justify mistakes being made on the field that could be easily fixed, I'm not sure how much progress can be made. It seems like we've identified the problem, found a solution, and... Why aren't they already implemented? Some people don't think there's a problem at all I guess and that mistakes are a part of baseball as much as bases and innings. It's a strange situation.

As far game 7s, I would rank them as:

                          2001 WS
                          1991 WS
                          2016 WS

I still think the BEST WS game ever was STL/TEX game 6 in 2011 (STL tied the game in the 9th with 2 runs, then tied it again in the bottom of the 10th with 2 runs and won it in the 11th). I don't believe in my lifetime anything will ever beat that game.

Yeah, I'm pretty fond of that World Series game as well.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
