I found a way around that. I'm in Arizona this weekend to see my brother and go to the NASCAR races. Since he goes back to work Monday, I decided I'd go watch an Arizona Fall League game that afternoon.

Kris Bryant snubbed badly if you go by wRC+. Bryant with 149 wRC+ to Arenado's 124 wRC+.

        Arenado had 41 HRs to Bryant's 39. He batted .294 to Bryant's .292. He drove in 133 runs compared to Bryant's 102. Arenado .932 OPS to Bryant's .939 OPS.

Apparently 30 RBIs or so are worth 25 points of wRC+ and turning a blind eye to the Coors Field effect.

Really horrible to have to presumptive MVP not even win a SS award.

I agree...but maybe this is an indication of things to come in the MVP voting?

I don't think so. I just think awards voters don't logically think these things through.

Mookie Betts named Wilson Overall Defensive player of the Year. And Giants named Wilson Overall Defensive Team of the Year.

Gardner getting these awards makes it the best time for the Yankees to trade him if they are actually serious this time around.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Fulmer and Seager named ROTY. Exactly as I hoped for. Sanchez was great, don't get me wrong. But Fulmer did it for a full 162 game season where Sanchez only did it for 2+ months.

I think if Sanchez hadn't cooled off significantly he might've won it but nice to see the voters make the right choice in the AL.

The NL pick was a no brainer.

No surprise really. Both are very deserving.

Yep can't really quibble with the results there. I wonder how close Bannister was to Francona though?
