    Re: MLB Off-Topic

I absolutely love some of the details of this CBA. The fact that the ASG no longer determines homefield in the World Series is good enough on its own. It will also provide some sense of fairness in a way as wild card teams that make it to the WS will be at a disadvantage while a club with a superior record will have the homefield.

This is one of the best CBA I can think of. Correcting a lot of unnecessary things.

I like the 10 day DL. It'll help teams deal with those day to day type injuries.

I was one of the few who kind of liked the ASG winner getting HFA, but I'm perfectly fine with best record getting it. I really like the changes to the QA and the 10-day DL as well.

My top 3 favorite features of the new CBA ranked:

            1. We still have baseball for the forseeable future

            2. All-Star Game wins mean jack squat again (watching my Cubbies as the visiting team this past World Series was beyond irritating).

            3. The new 10-day DL. I really, really like this part. It just seems so logical. If a guy is still hurt after 10 days, then he stays on the list. No big deal. But if he's out of commission for 8-9 days, you don't have that entire extra week to wait around for. Should keep more of the best players on the field to play more often.

How weird is it seeing a tweet on December 1st about something that happened on December 2nd!?

Well we don't get to eat there in the clubhouse though, otherwise it would make the cut for me. I am actually a little surprised that chefs weren't already in clubhouses before now.

The Rome Braves (Atlanta's Class A team) were named BA's Minor League team of the year. Interestingly enough, this is the first Braves' minor league to EVER win the award since they started naming a team of the year in 1993. The BA writer actually stated that this team may go down as one of the best minor league teams of the 21st century...it will be interesting to see how all of the prospects turn out.

Me too. I thought it was unique and kept the game competitive.
I liked that there was something at stake.

Saying that, players don't like to be embarrassed so even without anything at stake, the game will still be way more competitive than the other Big 3 ASG's.

I'm just happy that they changed the rule that the team with the best record will host the WS.

All Star Game Managers will no longer select the reserves. That will now be done by the Commissioners Office.

Wow. That seems major. What are managers doing then?
