Regarding Aguilar. Where the hell did this guy come from? It's like looking at another Nelson Cruz He was the 28th ranked Indian prospect at one point.

If you're interested in the state of the game and the future of it you should check out the latest edition of Dan Shulman's podcast (A Swing and a Belt) where he talks to Jayson Stark, Buster Olney (I learned something new bout Buster at the end of the interview) and JP Morosi.

Regarding the Bosio firing I think, and this is just me speculating, perhaps he said the "Spider Monkey" to the/referring to the African American clubhouse attendant and try to say he was referring to Stumpf who just happened to be present at the time and he tried to use him as an alibi.

Avila & Co. proceeded to interview Stumpf about whether this was a nickname Bosio had used before with him and when he denied it, again my speculation, then Avila proceeded to fire him.

If that's really all he said, it would have been a simple resolution. Something tells me there's more or a history of it that the attendant revealed during the interview about the incident.

There have been worse trades than that. Bedard was 28 at the time and finished 5th in Cy Young voting. His time with Seattle he had a 3.31ERA and 1.226WHIP. Not like they gave up Jones and Tillman for nothing.

Just googling "worst seattle mariners trades" brings up Mariners dealing Varitek and Lowe to the Red Sox. I'd consider that far worse than the Adam Jones deal. One of those "what ifs". Mariners with Varitek behind the plate, and had Griffey,Arod,Edgar,Ichiro also in that lineup while having Johnson,Lowe,Moyer leading their rotation.

Whatever the worst trade in Seattle Mariners' history actually is, people need to recognize that the Cubs had Heathcliff Slocumb before it was cool.

Just read an article (I think Rosenthal...) about the Bosio situation, and apparently Stumpf didn't even know about this nickname....so it seems like Bosio is just trying to cover his a**. If he actually is telling the truth that's a pretty dumb way to get fired, but it sure seems like he is making up a fake backstory for saying something insensitive

It is those two. I paused it right at the trivia question itself, and I thought they were going to answer it after the break. Nope, they jumped straight to the answer afterward.

Somebody called out "The answer to every question: Miggy." Then somebody else said: "The other is a trick question: Joey Votto." Of course that was wrong, then the guy said Adam Jones, and they flashed it on the bottom.

They've actually both played 1,544 games with their respective teams.
Speaking of Tim Tebow, he's making his very first baseball All-Star game.

Somewhere, former Brewers/Mariners pitcher and Cubs/Tigers pitching coach Chris Bosio is plotting and planning his next statement...

No, but you all have to understand it's all about how his face looks like when he lifts. He makes this face, you know? When he lifts. This is really just a massive misunderstanding. I mean I have a lot of "diverse" friends. Daniel Stumpf is WHITE. He is WHITE! Don't you see? I'm so not a racist. When Al Avila understands what REALLY happened, this will all make so much sense that they'll probably just hire me right back. Probably give me a raise. Then me an ol' spider monkey will have a good laugh about all this.
