    Didn't he mostly DH?

In 2005 he was still in Boston so Ortiz would be the primary DH.

I did this untill I got some baseball player/event that I remembered. The first one I got was Rockies-Mets from June 18th of this year.

Some interesting things about this game:

        --The Mets won 12-2
--Jacob deGrom was the winning pitcher
--Since this game deGrom has made 7 starts:
        6 IP, 3 ER
        6 IP, 3 ER
        8 IP, 1 ER
        8 IP, 0 ER
        8 IP, 2 ER (3 R total)
        7 IP, 3 ER
        8 IP, 2 ER
--The Mets scored 16 runs in these 7 games (deGrom gave up 15)
--The Mets are 2-5 in these starts
--deGrom did not earn either win, but was hit with all the losses.

--Brandon Nimmo hit 2 HRs, including a leadoff inside-the parker
        --Nimmo's slash-line after this game was .287/.403/.603.
--Since this game Nimmo is slashing .187/.323/.284
--He has his 2 HR since this game

--This game made NYM 31-38, and COL 34-38
--The Mets are currently 45-64 (14-26 since)
--The Rockies are currently 59-52 (25-14 since)

Not saying any of this means anything, but it is interesting
        Chicago Cubs
        Michigan Wolverines

I found a player named Dizzy Nutter who played for the 1919 Boston Braves.

His career lasted from September 7, 1919 to September 26, 1919.

To me, a Maddon type of manager is one whose basically in the mold of the new analytics driven managers but who marches to his own beat in that he's not EXACTLY an extension of the front office but who generally is in that ballpark. I would classify Kevin Cash as being in that mold almost more by necessity than anything but he has that dexterity of thinking.

Funny thing about Maddon, I was listening to Dan Shulman's podcast and it was mentioned in passing during the last episode that while everyone is employing the shift like crazy Maddon for the 2nd straight year in a row has employed the shift the least of any manager. I found that quite fascinating.

Took me nine searches before I finally landed on pitcher Alberto Castillo. I know him in name only, I don't really recall watching him pitch though.

Seventeen searches in, and I landed upon a game I actually remember! It was Marlins @ Braves, and Atlanta won 7-6 scoring three runs in the eighth and three in the ninth. I wondered what kind of comeback it was, and instantly knew when I saw the box score and it showed McCann hit a home run in the ninth inning. If I recall correctly, this was the one that was initially ruled a double, then reviewed and overturned (hit the top of the wall and a facing right behind it). These were the days when the umps had to go away from the field and do the reviews.

Before that though I saw an interesting blowout from the New York Giants against the Brooklyn Dodgers, when the Dodgers were the superior team standings-wise.

OK. Here's my random search for the night...a 4-2 win by the Blue Jays (37-29) over the Orioles (30-38) on June 15, 2006 at Rogers Centre.

                Notes
*Daniel Cabrera started for the O's; Ted Lilly started for the Jays.
                *A Jeff Conine sighting!
*LaTroy Hawkins got the final out for the O's.
*Name that Molina? Bengie started at catcher for the Jays.
*B.J. Ryan (who I think pitched for Baltimore just the year before) had an 0.55 ERA as the Jays' closer. Sadly, his career would only go strong for another year or two.
*Gratuitous Frank Catalanotto mention. Career .291 hitter.
*Former Cubs phenom Corey Patterson started in CF for Baltimore. In fact let's play name those former Cubs! Patterson, Lilly, Hawkins, Reed Johnson, Eric Hinske, and Justin Speier.
*Nobody who played in this game is still in MLB! The last of these Mohicans was Aaron Hill.

Had to look up who that guy was. Nah hope he never gets drafted. That's pretty unforgivable. And usually I'm always about second chances.

Correct. Went undrafted last year after his junior year, returned to school, went undrafted this year.

I mean, maybe one of the independent leagues might give him a look but I doubt it

I want to say the Royals came the closest a few days after the draft. I don't know how close, I just remember hearing they were considering it.

So last night, the Yankees Class A Advanced team threw a no-hitter and lost the game 1-0.
