        More Mike Trout amazingness:

As the Angels outfielder and WAR machine turns 28, he looks poised to lead his league in home runs for the first time. What other statistical belts could he claim before his career is over?

Well, he chose to stay with that organization. Good job Mike, but if he's happy then that's that.

Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey, Jr. never won a World Series. They turned out OK.

Just going through the list of Hall of Famers that never won a World Series is crazy. Some of the best players to ever lace up their cleats didn't play on good teams.

              Spoiler

Hell, Hank Aaron only won it once, and it was in his 4th season of a 23-year career.

Yankees and White Sox to play a game at "Field of Dreams" next season.

They built it, and they’re coming. One of the most highly anticipated games in Major League Baseball history is set for Thursday, Aug. 12, when the MLB at Field of Dreams Game presented by GEICO will be held at the famous movie site in Dyersville, Iowa. After getting pushed back

Here's a fun game. How many differences can you spot between the old and new STL Cards logo? Whoever gets exact number right wins.

(I'm using SportsLogo.net pic. No cheating, and I'm only counting what they had circled as a change)

                        Because why not?

That's the era we're in. The change for sake of change. Teams making the slightest change ever simply to have a new logo and new merch.

The old stuff ends up on sale though which is nice for fans who don't care one bit.

Similar note, but that's what'll happen league wide too once the Majestic deal is up. Discounted jerseys.

They rounded all the sharp edges and "centered" the T on the S.

And of course, they probably changed the shades of red and blue.

                            Re: MLB Off-Topic

                            Outside of what TC9 mentioned:

The outer edge is less bold and/or the inner white is bolder.

Then there are little things (don't know how to note/count them all) at letters' corners that protrude at different angles than they used to, like every part of the T (the bottom comes out and the top corners have 90-degree angles then hang a little at the ends), the top of the L (it droops into its vertical portion instead of hitting at hard right-angle turns), and the bottom of the S.

The top left swirl of the S stuck out more in the old design than the new one, I think more so because the bottom left end of the S in the new one sticks out now more to balance that appearance.

The new one has more jaggies. Needs 16x MSAA.

And of course I no longer see a trademark symbol, which obviously will not be a change once it's all trademarked.

I liked the old one's sharp edges more, but the new one has better balanced bits otherwise and a better red color IMO.

Nobody is arguing Trout won't turn out ok. Pretty sure some HOFer's wished to have an opportunity to change teams out of their own volition.

But hey, if Trout is content to play the rest of his career on decent to mediocre teams more power to him.

I'm just glad that baseball doesn't care as much about rings as the NBA does.

Trout would be getting beat up on twitter if he shot a ball instead of hit it.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
