    Re: MLB Off-Topic

I mean, Rosenthal is pretty vanilla-ish; yet having it out there, confirmed, for everyone to see that someone as prominent as Ken is out because of some light criticism of Manfred is just hilarious. Manfred is just garbage, as if we needed more evidence.

Let's see if any of the other big name reporters at MLB say anything about or if they are just going to be good lap dogs and keep their mouth shut.

Heyman, Morosi and Sherman haven't tweeted anything about it. Verducci is actually smart, must likely just happenstance, and doesn't have a Twitter account.

Manfred is actually worse than Gary Bettman, which is saying something.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that. Unless Manfred is doing everything in his power to keep the Rays at Tropicana/As in their stadium, while also running a league that has had multiple scandals covered up by its teams, while being booed by 20,000 people at every draft and championship trophy presentation, imposes a hard cap which hurts the bigger markets more than it helps the smaller ones, and implements a home run derby as the tiebreaker after the 10th inning, then he couldn't possibly be worse than Bettman.

                I'm aware...

I don't see it on Matzek's Twitter unless I'm missing something.

Among those who are critical of Rob Manfred following the firing of Ken Rosenthal from the MLB Network is Braves relief pitcher Tyler Matzek.

Here’s the news story at ESPN on former Mets GM Zack Scott’s acquittal on both DWI and a lesser charge. He was fired before the case was adjudicated. https://t.co/Sa5foMjvRK

                      Interesting story I read.

Turner was trying to change the Braves name to the Eagles in the 70s.

So Atlanta would have the Hawks, Falcons, Eagles.

I wonder how that would fly (pun intended).

Given the track record of all the Atlanta teams named after birds (your forgot Thrashers, RIP ) I'm glad we stuck with Braves.

I think the Braves should go back to the previous Atlanta baseball name and be the Atlanta Crackers

but do you go back and edit your comment to say "no pun intended" after the fact? I'm talking real time, when someone speaks and makes a pun and knows they're making a pun, and says "no pun intended", that's different than noticing the pun after the fact
