    Re: Barry Bonds is ....

Shaq has ALWAYS been big and Chris Farley was never a small guy, contrary to the situation Bonds is in.

Bonds was once small with a fairly tiny skull - now, he's the Incredible Hulk with a massive forehead.

    You decide.

I'm sorry that he has a massive forehead. It must suck getting your batting helmet resized every year because of an overdosage of 'roids.

I'm guessing that the guy eats a lot of chicken. I mean seriously, aren't steroids meant to build your body, rather than give you big cheeks?

Remember, Bonds, and MANY other athletes, use Creatine™, a legal performance enhancement supplement, that gives you that big extra boost of fatigue while working out, thus he can work out to a higher standard, and a longer period of time, thereby expanding the size of your cheeks... and the rest of your body.

Either way, Bonds has already cemented his fate with the baseball world - as an arrogant, self-centered superstar who has a known hatred for the media.

Not something I'd like to be remembered for...

There's a difference between the words hatred, and annoyance.

The media has swarmed Bonds since his 70th homerun in 2001, and Bonds has almost had enough after his father's death. It is obvious that he wants to focus on the game rather than people asking him some outside questions that he feels that he doesn't have the time to answer. Why? He's got a schedule to maintain. He's got a workout time, not a steroid time.

Anyways, it's apparent that if you sat down and talked with this guy, that this guy would know baseball. He knows what he's talking about, and before the Giants game today, in the private batting cage at some other field, Bonds was talking to Cody Ransom about hitting. Later, Durham comes over, and listens in. Then comes Pierzynski, then Mohr, then Grissom, then Feliz, and pretty soon, this guy is acknowledging them of how to watch pitchers' arm motions, see if they are tipping their pitches, focusing them on daily routines, how go stay inside on the ball, get the knob out in front and whip your back shoulder around, how to stay completely level and balanced and sitting on outside pitches, what to expect on what count, how to be patient, etc.

I mean, seriously, take away 667 home runs from Bonds, and then what do you still have? You still have a guy that has stolen 500 bases, has one of the greatest on base percentages of all time, and if you take away those 667 homeruns, you'd have to replace them with other things, like outs, walks, singles, doubles, triples, sac flies, etc. Bonds is a stud, steroids or not. He has one of the most beautiful, short, fast, compact swings in baseball, and if you take that away from Bonds if he's on steroids, he would be a lot worse of a player, and I can guarantee that.

I'm not here to deny the fact that Bonds might be taking steroids, and I'm not here to say that he isn't... I'm here to try to get you guys away from trying to make "Bonds is taking steroids" a fact, mainly because it hasn't been proven yet. When it's proven, I'm done, have nothing to feel ashamed for, because I'm the one that doesn't know if he is or not, and I'm not going to say that he is until I know for sure. You're innocent until proven guilty, my friends... you're not guilty until proven innocent.

                        Blzer,

Since Bonds isn't a member of the MLBPA anymore, couldn't he go ahead and take a drug test to prove his innocence for his alleged steroid usage?

There's no union now to stop him from taking a test, so really if he wanted to clear his name, he could.

So why not take a test and prove you're innocent if you can?

THAT'S what has me thinking he's guilty.

I remember watching an episode of SportsCenter during Spring Training, and bonds was in the dugout, TALKING TO MEDIA (yes, scary) about the steroid issue, and what he said was something about allowing them to test him every day for the rest of his life for all that he cared, but they would find nothing on him. I don't know, something like that.

Then a couple of days later, Turk Wendell mouthed something off, and Bonds got pissed that he didn't say it in his face. Just letting you know what kind of time frame I'm referring to here, and exactly when the time was that he said it.
