    Re: Biggest suprise so far?

My surprise is that the braves have an above .500 winning percentage!!! in a supposedly power house NL East, we are only 2 games back of the world series champions Florida Marlins. Maybe 13 division titles isnt out of the question just yet

Wouldn't that be something if they pulled it off and won the World Series. That would create a lot of media attention.

Oh yes, an all Texas World Series!!

Of course the Rangers and Astros have to both make it to the playoffs first, and then find a way to win the first playoff series in their respective histories.

If we're talking individual players, I'm going to give props to Oliver Perez. He went into last night's game 2-0 with only 5 walks, more Ks than innings pitched, and an ERA of around 1.90. He gave up 5 runs in 5 innings last night, but most came off of hits that were of the seeing-eye variety. He also didn't walk anyone and struck out 7 in his 5 innings.

Same, I hope he continues to keep his walk totals low. So far he's been effective, except for his recent inning of work.

people have mentioned them, but it deserves a 2nd say, the Tigers are just a totally different team right now. They go from 1 loss away from setting the most losses ever to a team that actually has a chance to win games. The Rangers are a great surprise, and I'm glad to see them win without ARod, but no one could have predicted this for the Tigers, and not get laughed at

It's the Texas Rangers. Everyone knew they had alot of young guys who were going to hit and put runs up on the board. But who in their right mind thought they'd have pitching? Give it up to Orel Hershiser and Buck Showalter for the job they're doing with that pitching staff. Awesome Job!
