    Re: Biggest suprise so far?

It's the Texas Rangers. Everyone knew they had alot of young guys who were going to hit and put runs up on the board. But who in their right mind thought they'd have pitching? Give it up to Orel Hershiser and Buck Showalter for the job they're doing with that pitching staff. Awesome Job!
Life is a sport, so play hard!

people have mentioned them, but it deserves a 2nd say, the Tigers are just a totally different team right now. They go from 1 loss away from setting the most losses ever to a team that actually has a chance to win games. The Rangers are a great surprise, and I'm glad to see them win without ARod, but no one could have predicted this for the Tigers, and not get laughed at

I am gonna have to go with the Royals. They are currently 7 games under .500 (soon to be 8 after the Yankees beat em). They were the supposed division favorites for the AL central, but some injuries to their pitching staff has really done them in.

I partly agree. The tigers are up there on the list because they were sooo bad last year.

But I think Texas is up there as well. The tigers actually signed a big free agent and got a pretty good pitcher (probably more but I can't remember what they did this off season).

The rangers brought in old guys(Jordan, Rogers, Nelson, Dellucci etc) AND lost the best player in the game. They did get soriano though, but those don't cancel out.

My point is that once those moves were made, horrible doom was predicted by everyone around here.

There was some optimism in detroit. Things were on the downfall bigtime here, talk of boycotts, 100 losses, gm firing, etc.

tigers, rangers above .500 m's and blue jays way behind.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.
