Shame Reddick is so bad, last year he would've been a nice fit. Who are they gonna give? Gentry? Crisp? Maybe fool Jack Z into Milone?

      Giants signed Ugla.

      Edit: Maybe.

Would the A's send Dan Robertson and Matt Olson for Franklin?

Also, am I the only Mariners fan who does not want us to trade for David Price? We can trade what we will for Price for a stud hitter. Why the hell not do a Walker for Buxton or Kris Bryant swap? We need freaking hitters, not pitchers, for crying out loud, Jack Z needs to get his priorities straight. If we deal Walker+++ for Price I'll throw up. It would be just like trading Jones+++ for Bedard, only difference is, instead of getting an injury prone pitcher, we will get a pitcher that will leave town at his earliest opportunity. My God, no thanks. I'm going to sleep, someone wake me up after the deadline, this is too stressful.

Neither the Twins or Cubs would trade Buxton or Bryant for Walker. And what stud hitter is out there right now to get?

Now I agree that the Mariners wouldn't be wise to trade for Price as his 'price' (i'm sorry) is so astronomically high right now. I'm a Cardinal fan and have been calling for a trade for Price since before June but I've backed off of late since it seems it would take Taveras + more to get it done.

But to compare a 28 year old Cy Young winner, having his best season yet with a year and a half left on his contract to Erik Bedard is just outlandish.

Tommy Milone wants the Oakland A's to trade him following his demotion. If they try to acquire Nick Franklin from Seattle I am sure Milone would be in the deal.

Not half a day after I post that, he requests a trade. This is gonna happen. Watch. Seattle gonna Seattle.

If we trade Franklin to the A's, Robertson and/or Olson better be involved. Robertson or Olson and Milone could work. I like Olson's upside more than Robertson, but Robertson might be the safer choice.

Billy Beane has already said they won't trade Robertson. He said this after the trade with the Cubs.

If that happens it'll be one of those Giants kind of moves that revitalizes a guy. You just watch and see.

Re: 2014 MLB Trade Deadline Thread

I'm sure Giancarlo Stanton is available for the right price. After all they are the Marlins.

As for Walker, I have softened my stance on trading him, but I would not include another blue chipper along with him. I could live with Walker, Sanchez, and maybe Pike for Price, but hells to the no if we are talking about including Peterson, Paxton, Jackson, and/or Diaz with him. I'm not even sure Jackson can be traded, unless it's one of those PTBN things. And I would only be ok with dealing Walker if Price agrees to a long term deal.

Saying all that, I would deal Walker, Peterson, Diaz, Pike, and Franklin for Giancarlo Stanton though. We should call the Marlins and offer them that deal just to see what their response is, hey, you never know!

Another example to never trust GMs. Everyone has a price. Well except Mike Trout.

The Addison Russell trade triggered this. Jed Lowrie isn't going to be around forever.

That was prospect hype. this is positional scarcity.
