Good trade for Yanks. Pitchers have figured out Solarte. He was hot at the beginning before pitchers knew about him, but now everyone knows he never swings at the first pitch, so pitchers groove fastballs which he takes, then he flails at nonsense afterwards, which led to his .233 average in the last 200 at-bats. De Paula was a career minor leaguer. Headley is struggling badly this year, but with the short porch in right and his stellar defense, coupled with his free agency at the end of the season, it seems like a win for the Yanks.

I fully expect Dan Uggla to - somehow, some way - come back to beat the Braves in the playoffs.

Both of these things are potentially extremely beneficial to the Blue Jays.

Showing interest and pulling the trigger are two entirely different things.

As for Rios, i'd have considered bringing him back until he hurt himself. Do we really need a guy who can just as easily find himself back on the shelf?

Hell, I'd even take regular Doritos.

Too expensive for the Yanks...they probably wouldn't part with such a key part of their future. E-Jack isn't worth Cool Ranch Doritos; that's reserved for the higher level guys you want to get rid of, who are on easy to dump contracts (myself and Brandon Inge circa 2009/2010.)

MAYBE the Yankees would part with a bag of Fritos, but that's just not the same value imo. Cool Ranch Doritos are a top 5 prospect at the corn chip spot, an immediate impact that fills a need for the Cubs, whereas Fritos hardly break the top 10 in a weak depth position in the Yankees organization. A bag of Fritos are a dime a dozen for the Cubs.
