I have no doubt that that will happen.

David Price is the better pitcher right now and is younger and doesn't come with the injury issues Cliff Lee does. Sorry, but you're never going to get Will Myers.

Is Price really better than Lee? I know he's younger and that has some value but considering Lee's 5+ year run I think he may still have an edge on Price. The elbow injury is killer though or he'd be the most valuable trade chip on the market.

Not a rental... Angels get Street for 2015 as well.

Well it's a $7MM club option. Still pretty stupid to trade 2 pretty good prospects for a reliever.

A club option that will undoubtedly be used.

Lindsey and Alvarez were a few top prospects for the Angels, but should barely crack the Padres top ten, if at all. It's a relief pitcher and a 2B, not extremely valuable positions.

By the two prospects, I'm talking Rondon and Lindsey, which both should be able to crack the T10, more likely for Rondon.

Cardinals are showing strong interest in David Price. They will try to acquire him, but ONLY if they get a financial commitment from him.

True, club option... But yea I agree, that's a lot to give up when Joe Smith was doing just fine and you also already have Grilli.

                      Jose Rondon > Huston Street

Tony Sipp. Antonio Bastardo. Brad Ziegler. Matt Belisle. Wes Wright. Dale Thayer. All effective options. But they trade their entire arm for Huston Street.

                        Ugh..

The Cards do have the farm to make that move though. That would be one scary rotation.

If they could move something around C-Mart for him and get him locked up, wow.

also, k_mac, respond to your PM's lol

I didn't even realize they gave up more than Lindsey + Alvarez. If I would have read a little further up the thread, I would have known what the deal actually was. Completely my fault.

I agree with what you're saying, there had to have been a cheaper alternative.

According to MLBTR Oakland is interested in Nick Franklin and is considered their top target.
