Great showing from Wainwright. Not so much for Lester.

Also a bit concerning that this throwing to first thing was never addressed in the past. I dont care how good of a pitcher you are, keeping runners honest is a huge part of being a pitcher.
That has to be address when you have a guy like Billy Hamilton who will steal you blind every chance he gets.

Don't know about the color commentator, but ESPN should had never let Jon Miller go.

I like Schulman. He doesn't get much help from Kruk or Hersheiser, though.

I agree with those saying the Cubs had some good ABs tonight. They missed a lot of hittable pitches, especially late. It looked like they started to press around the 5th or 6th inning and may have been overswinging.

I could listen to guys like Jon Miller and Gary Thorne narrate paint drying.

Jays get to face AL East teams alot early on, so hopefully they take advantage of it. If they want to compete in AL East, they need at least 40 wins vs the division. Something they haven't done in years.

Feels weird to see Yankees this year, I can't even name abunch of guys on their team anymore lol.

AL East....used to be where 2nd place team was a top 5 team in the league. Now it seems like anyone could win the division and even just 90 wins might do it cause divisional games could make teams closer and lower some win totals. Not many dominant aces left in the east anymore. Feels like yesterday we had people like Halladay,Price,Sabathia,Lester and stuff dominating in the East. Crazy how much has changed in just a few years.

Shulman (correct spelling) is probably the best traditional national PBP guy. He's no frills but he's a tier below the truly great guys as I think Shulman needs to have a color commentator at or very close to his level to bounce things off of. Every time i've heard him work with Hershiser it was always VERY enjoyable. It's a shame that ESPN broke them up on TV though I believe they still do some work together in the playoffs on the radio.

Agree on Shulman and Heshiser. Shulman just needs anyone other than Kruk (and please don't let Schilling near a mic ever again for more reasons than tonight). I hear him (Shulman) on local radio here in Toronto sometimes, and, despite being the guest, he really drives the whole segment. It can be on any topic too.

I think it was last Thursday he was on with host Brian Hayes, and former NHL player, and resident TSN goofball, Jeff O'Neill, and Shulman elevated these guys to previously way beyond their usual level. I also really liked his call for the Final Four this weekend. Anyway, big Shulman fan here, especially for baseball.

John Sterling and Susan Waltman are awful on the radio. Waltman is from Boston and the accent can be heard clearly.

Len really more than anything. JD is tolerable but Len is so dry and corny. Omg it's so bad.
