There are 8 minor league players that have hit 400 or more homeruns. 484 is the record held by Hector Espino. Hessman is now 6th on the all time MiLB list.Comment

The Dodgers were down to their final strike, based loaded, down 3, and Guerrero just hit a grand slam to deep center.

Massett comes in...4 pitch walk. Cunniff comes in...4 pitch walk. Seems every Braves reliever is determined to get into trouble."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Where'd you get your data? I used this site: http://www.hittrackeronline.com/index.php
I know there is a lot of variance on different sites for HR distance so you clearly see something different.
I think we agree on the fact that a) Joc Pederson is a stud, b) he hits absolute bombs, and c) said bombs are awesome to behold.
For the long term, I'd still like to see Pederson cut down on the strikeouts. The 30% strikeout rate is somewhat disconcerting and will probably keep his batting average in the mid-.200s. There's nothing wrong with that when you draw walks and hit for power like he does, but they give you less margin of error for offensive performance. In fact, his average will probably fall quite a bit more once he stops putting up a .330 ISO and the long fly balls turn into warning track outs.
A Fangraphs writer made a Jim Edmonds comparison as Pederson's ceiling. That seems right to me as long as he continues to play CF and cuts down on the strikeouts.Last edited by Chip Douglass; 06-03-2015, 12:20 AM.I write things on the Internet.

Remind me again why we have Eric Young on our roster?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Ha, Braves bullpen lost a game. What a shocker. The bullpen now has 10 or 11 losses....
So the Braves could be 36-16 or more realistically 31-21 if they had an average bullpen. Pretty frustrating to have a team with so much will and hustle be .500 still because they have the worst bullpen in the league.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
