Devin Mesoraco will attempt to return from hip injury this season as a left fielder. Possible permanent move?

Definitely should have checked weather reports before taking Bryce Harper in FanDuel.

I'm guessing the real reason for removing Tal's Hill is to add more premium seating. I'm sure the new seats you see in that mock-up are going to be pricey.

The Twins win a ball game today that they would not have won last year. down 4-0 to Boston and they win 8-4. Some horrible defense by Boston today. can't believe what i saw from them today. go Twins.
Let go Twins, Vikes, Wild, Golden Gophers go.

I saw that 9th inning in Boston....That was just BRUTAL. The Red Sox are a complete mess right now. I do love what the Twins are doing and that's the kind of win that a very good team is able to pull off.

Love the way the Cubs seem to be in the Nats heads. A bit ironic, eh?

As a stand-alone event, a strikeout is a wasted at-bat. But the other side of the coin is more hard-hit balls and more power, so it's probably best to view the strikeouts as something of a trade-off.

I agree they shouldn't be dismissed, but when you're walking in 16% of your PAs and putting up a .340 ISO, they're not a big problem. They will be if the power/walks fade.

Ok, so during Matt Szczur's AB in the 4th tonight, Nats PBP man, Carpenter mentions his name is pronounced "SEE-zur" (like the emperor). Santangelo TRIES to be funny and say that it looks more like the first line of an eye chart. (Oh, F.P., stop, my sides are hurting). Then Carpenter goes on to tell a cool story about Szczur missing the first 2 weeks of a college season because they found he could be a donor for a kid who had leukemia and had a 1/80,000 chance of finding a match, to which that funny, funny, man, F.P. Santangelo replies, "way to go Matt Eye Chart"!

                  Can't smh enough.

Oh yeah...I mean I fully understand the trade off and that most teams (even mine!) would take it. I find it more so a sad stance in today's game compared to the 60s-80s where players had pride in not striking out >100 times a season.

People forget that even though Junior Griffey was such a beast and slugger, his K% never rose about 19% (when he was healthy and played > 100 games). Frank Thomas can be put in that same category of sluggers who didn't strike out > 100 times many seasons.

Who listens to Walgreen's broadcast in the first place?

It took me a while to warm up to Chip Caray after John Sciambi left (look up Chipper's evil eye which likely booted him out the door); I'm comfortable with Atlanta's team as they at least try to remain unbiased.

The worst announcers in all of baseball used to be the Chi-Sox but Steve Stone is doing for Hawk what he did for years for Harry Caray, add a dose of realism and reign in some of the crazy homerism. The Nationals broadcasters are not only homers of the highest degree but they also think everything the Nats do is the greatest thing on God's green earth. I swear if a Nats player were to take a dump in the middle of the field FP Santangelo would wax poetic about the form and substance of said excrement and call it the sweetest turd he's ever had the pleasure of smelling.

Buck and Pat may have their faults for the Blue Jays but they're pretty unbiased IMO. They give credit where it's due.

I've listened to a few Nats broadcasts and never thought they were that bad. Maybe I just caught them on a "good" day or something.

I'm a big fan of Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies with the Cubs. They do a great job of bringing in some analytics and being just homer enough to enjoy the Cubs playing well, but criticizing if necessary.
