Shows you how insane these players have been that an 8-HR session for Bryant felt a little like a disappointment. These guys are out of control good.

That's alright.. get them out of there, less chance of injury and altering their swing.

Bryant's dad screwed him. Jeez. Throw strikes, pal.

              Uppercut much?

Just take the results of the hits. When he squares them up, they are towering. When he hits low flies or liners, they are top-spin. He can't keep an inside pitch fair, and I doubt he could even hit a ground ball the other way with that swing.

I'm not a fan of uppercuts. Rizzo's was similar. Brandon Belt's is like that, and I hate it.

Watch what Pujols will do with a flat swing, and watch the opposite results physics-wise. When he squares them up, he will backspin balls out (like how Frazier did).

EDIT: I'm in no way claiming he will beat Bryant, I'm saying the swing plane is a contrast of Bryant's.

SECOND EDIT: Case in point, Pujols' wall-scrapers would not have even made the warning track if Bryant's swing had the same trajectory and exit velocity.

I think his size makes his swing look more like an uppercut than it really is. Every MLB hitter has lift in their swing, tall players just look like they have more because the low pitch is further from their hands.

He probably bet on everybody against Frazier. How dare somebody be more popular than him in Cincinnati.

You don't need to even see the swing itself, you just need to see how the ball leaves in comparison to the swing. If the ball's plane is lower than the swing plane, that is a hit that will produce top spin.

If your point is that he's taller therefore his swing plane will be less flat, I can go with you on that. I'm not talking about a loop, though. His hands arrive at contact from below the ball, not above. A ten foot tall player could learn how to backspin balls just like a three foot person can learn to uppercut.

By the way, people are talking about BP pitchers? I didn't look at the grip, but I'm convinced Charlie Frazier is throwing some sort of breaking ball for him or something. We'll see it again when he comes up.

                              Also, what happened to Swami?

                              EDIT: Nevermind, there he is.

This will probably go unmentioned, but I think a kid got nailed in the face in Donaldson's round. I hope he's okay.

Kris Bryant's dad had a tough time out there. No worries though. Bryant will be in this thing a bunch more times and that was an awesome memory for those two.

I actually like the new format. Not sure how you guys feel about it, but I wouldn't mind if they stuck with it.
